This was my second stay with Baja Discovery and I'm already saving up for a third.

I have also been to the gray whale lagoons of Baja three times previously with operators other than Baja Discovery, but Baja Discovery is by far the best, both because of their prime location *inside* the whale viewing area, and their superior business practices. They are not only respectful of the wildlife, but also of their crew members, the local community, and the greater ecosystem. While some other operators in San Ignacio are boasting about their unsustainable and unnecessary "glamping" amenities, Baja Discovery keeps things simple, yet comfortable, the way the original founders of San Ignacio eco-camps intended. I promise you'll have everything you need, and more, at Baja Discovery's Punta Piedra camp and will feel good about making an ethical choice.

What really resonated with me was how much Baja Discovery prioritizes supporting the local community. Purchasing fresh tortillas made in the nearby village, fish caught by family members of the crew, crafts hand-painted by local artisans...they spread the love as much as possible.

For anyone unsure if the price is worth it, please know that it includes *everything*, including private bus transportation from San Diego to the Tijuana airport and charter flights from Tijuana to the lagoon. The drive from San Diego to the lagoons can take two days each way, so getting there in less than three hours is a real game changer. You also get all of your meals, snacks, and drinks (including alcoholic beverages), two whale watches per day (weather permitting), and other activities such as guided nature walks and short kayak paddles. You can participate in as many or as few activities as you like. If you prefer to just sit and have a glass of wine while watching whales from shore, that's fine too.

Very well run company. We had a fantastic stay in San Ignacio Lagoon. We were so well taken care of in every aspect of our trip to/from and the camp. I especially appreciate how ethical this company is with their whale watching practices.

This was an amazing and unforgettable experience. The staff was amazing, kind, informative, and accommodative. My wife and I went there with our 7 year old son, and had a blast. The location is perfect, and whale encounters were incredible! If you have a chance to do this adventure, you will not regret it.
