Such a cute little reset nestled in the mountains. Close to great hiking, lakes, and many Sierra County and Plumas County towns. I stayed here specifically todo some hiking in the area, and it was perfect.. I stayed in Cabin 2. It was perfect. Well stocked with everything I needed and a comfy bed. I also made sure to lounge and relax on the main deck overlooking the river in the gorgeous fall weather. ||TIP - Make sure to bring groceries with you or pick them up along your way as a “real” grocery store is nowhere nearby. The General Store in town has a small deli, and “the basics”, but the selection is limited.

Had a great time staying in cabin 7 with some friends. Our few questions were met with excellent hospitality and kindness. Definitely would recommend bringing your main squeeze to the Buttes.

The units are comfy and simple! The bed is very comfortable - like a tempurpedic mattress. The 2 other couples we come with each year have their favorite units! Ours is Unit 7, the largest, which offers our group a large kitchen! It has a fireplace and a day bed for additional sleeping or seating. The unit is always sparkling clean and has a view of the Yuba River. It is adjacent to the outside community dining area and deck so if the resort is full, it could be a tad noisy. But we’ve never had this happen the time of year we go. Jim and his wife are responsive if you need anything!

What a nice personal greeting when we arrived during the Labor Day weekend! The owner walked us to our room in one of the cabins, and we had a deck and windows that opened up to the sounds of the river, mountains, and soaring birds. Our cabin room was updated, cozy and had everything we needed. When it's cool, there is a gas fireplace, too. The owner helped us with directions to a fun summer lawn concert. Buttes is only a short walk to groceries, museum, and a restaurant with patio dining. Definitely recommend, very highly. It's reasonably priced and we'll be back for any time we stay over near the Gold Lakes region!

I have been coming here for years and love it! The cabins are well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The solo cabins are perfect for one person, and the other cabins offer bigger spaces and even separate bedrooms. The patio has a bbq grill and looks out over the Yuba River. A Perfect Stay for Adventure Seekers!

My husband and I recently stayed at The Buttes Resort in Sierra City, CA, and had a fantastic experience. We went up to spend the night on a Friday before an exciting day of mountain biking up to the Sierra Buttes Lookout from town. The cabin was comfortable, well-equipped, and had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay.

Jim & Rosa, the hosts, were incredibly helpful and friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful time exploring the charming town before our adventure day, which added to the overall experience. Although we checked out before heading out for the day, we found ourselves wishing we had booked a second night!

If you're looking for a cozy place to stay with great hosts and easy access to outdoor adventures, The Buttes Resort is the perfect spot.

Sierra City is gorgeous. The Buttes Resort is conveniently located in the heart of this quaint little town, within walking distance to the convenience store, gift store, saloon, and café. There is a perfect view of the Yuba river from the cabin’s deck, and the relaxing sound of the river lulls you to sleep at night and gently wakes you in the morning. You also have a beautiful view of the Sierra Buttes. The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were welcoming and friendly - as were all of the locals we chatted with during our stay.

We have stayed here before and it is wonderful. A cozy fire and warm blankets made our November stay very comfortable. It was clean, and a well supplied kitchen.
