My family and I were impressed by the warm hospitality and attention to detail. This home was clean and well decorated, providing a cozy and comfortable retreat throughout our stay. The location was fantastic, offering easy access to big bear shuttles and snowboarding resort. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this home to future guests. I had a terrible experience with this company. My family and I were in Lake Tahoe for a ski trip, and due to a last-minute cancellation from another property (due to safety issue), we urgently needed a house for the same day. I found a property available for 8 nights, booked it, completed all their requirements, submitted my ID, and made full payment. After HOURS on the phone, they canceled my reservation without providing a valid reason.

We are a family—my wife, three kids, and myself—traveling for leisure. We met every single requirement they asked for, yet they decided we couldn’t stay. It was a complete waste of time and energy.

Not only did they ruin my experience, but they also caused a financial loss for the property owner, who lost over $3,000 in rental income because of their incompetence. If I were the owner, I would never list my property with them. And as a guest, I will never book with this company again.

Thankfully, I found a local company who saved our trip. They were professional, efficient, and accommodating. I am currently staying in their property and loving it.

This company doesn’t deserve your trust—whether you’re a guest or a homeowner. Beware and stay away!

Let me start by saying our group is already planning to come back! Our favorite amenities were the sound system, fireplace, hot tub and sauna. The game room was also very entertaining. Very clean and we loved the fact that were many bathrooms. We were a group of 7 and everything was so comfortable. We love love love the place! Also very close to everything you need - grocery, restaurants, etc. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to create a quality experience in this beautiful space. Tips - no need to bring any kitchen supplies - they have pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, etc even though it’s not listed. There’s a switch on the sauna on the bottom to make it work. Communicate with the owner to make sure there is propane in the tank if you plan to bbq. Bring fire starter for the fireplace.

We arrived to a house that was not ready for our arrival. The water main was off with no instructions. We had to contact the plumber to get assistance. The house had not been cleaned--floors, kitchen, bathrooms were still dirty, dirty towels remained in bathrooms and beds were unmade with dirty sheets. After making many calls to Airbnb and Vacasa, we finally received a call from Annalise (Vacasa General Manager) who admitted that the owner "forgot" about the reservation and was planning to stay there for the week. She advised that we needed to vacate the house the following day despite having a rental agreement. We were offered a 2nd facility, which was nice but was not ready for our arrival. Electrical bear wires in place and active, walkways were not clear of snow making it unsafe to enter, dead mouse on floor in house. Second night there, the combination locks malfunctioned. Waited
2.5 hours for locksmith in cold weather.

We missed one full day of skiing as a result of having to relocate to 2nd property. Sadly, we lost money because we were unable to use the 3rd day of our lift tickets.

Annalise claimed to provide a "refund" and offered a discount on a future stay. To date, we have received nothing despite contacting her on multiple occasions.

Wish I had checked Yelp reviews and Vacas’s own website before renting. Looks like MANY others report similar issues.

Do not rent with this company. If I could give zero I would. The company was awful to work with from the start. I had more than one employee lie to me. They tried to cheat me out of more money going back on their stated policies. The agents seem untrained, inconsistent and unprofessional. I booked with them in September for a trip in November, and was told less than 3 hours prior to check in that they canceled my room due to a gas leak and I was on my own to book other lodging on a holiday weekend. The whole process start to finish was a headache. I will never book with them again and would suggest if you have a rental home with them, find a different company to represent you.

The pictures you see describing the cabin are spot on. The home was comfortable, the amenities were terrific. The game room in the garage was awesome fun. The kitchen was large and amply supplied - we made our whole thanksgiving meal without any problems. The beds are comfortable. The tv is huge (but no broadcast stations, we used fubo) and the seating is comfortable and made for a great place to watch football. There is a hot tub to soak in and the yard is good size and there is a high fence surrounding the yard, so we were comfortable letting our dogs out. This a great place to enjoy a family vacation or gathering with friends.

Vacasa is the worst property management. All they care about is turnover, not the safety or comfort of their guests. They charge a bunch of fees but when you need help, they give you the runaround. Here’s photos of our dirty rental that we paid almost $900 for, for only 2 nights. Expired fire extinguisher, missing smoke detectors, and leaking propane tank. Dirty towels and bedsheets.

Certainly not unique, but host put extremely late check-in (4pm) and unusual early check-out (10am) and you are denied any early check-in or late check-out unless you fork up extra money. This host charged us $70(!) for late check-out. Any parent travelling with kids would understand the request for early check-in/late check-out but do not appreciate the extra fees.
