I know some people prefer Snow Summit and Big Bear over Snow Valley, but not me! One of the biggest perks of Snow Valley is its parking—free for passholders, conveniently located, and never full. That means:

1. Your car is your locker
2. Just park and go, no need to take a shuttle!

The bathrooms are always well-maintained and decently clean, which is a nice bonus. The cafeteria offers a solid variety of typical ski resort fare, and the prices aren’t outrageously high. There are plenty of tables, and they even provide free water—definitely appreciated!

As for the lifts, they usually have only a few open, mostly Blue and Green runs, so it may not be ideal for Black Diamond seekers. But as a beginner, I love it! Plus, the live webcams make it easy to check conditions and crowd levels before heading out.

And the best part? It’s 20–30 minutes closer than the other resorts when coming from Running Springs—less time driving, more time on the slopes!

I had the best birthday experience ever! My lift was for free and I rent the boots, board and helmet. Staff are very friendly when you explain that is your first time! There are many different types of slides. The only problem was my locker that I couldn’t get help from anyone.

Great place to learn how to ski & snowboard. Fun for all ages! Easy check in, if you bought tickets & rentals online. Great snacks and smash burgers!!!

Despite the bad weather people still go here to have fun, there’s only 2 beginners lift open today (Feb 07, 2025).

Giving this place low rate because I witnessed a snowboard instructor treat student differently during a first-time lesson. There was a group lesson of 3, one student who is Asian was being unconcerned by the official resort instructor.

I suggest people not to pay such money here if they want to learn snowboarding from this resort, you don’t want to have one to teach you with completely no smile, shaking one’s head when you do a wrong move, and only be given one or two words each time when the instructor talks to you.
As a snowboard instructor myself, I feel really sad when i saw that, it should be encouraging and try everything to keep student stay enthusiastic and most importantly to have fun. But all i could see on this official instructor is behaving like to wants to finish his working time as soon as he could, and have conversation to whoever he feels more comfortable.

nice place for south Californian to ski. the lifting #2 is perfect slope for beginners. however, snow turned ice in mid-march (19" fresh snow as it shown on their website), hard surface and pain if you fall. still it is good place

Lift tickets have three categories: child, teen and adult. Price is cheaper than Mt. High. Snow condition was quite good even though there was no snow within two weeks.
Lodge was good to relax after skiing. However, I could not find handicap lamp for the lodge. I had to carry my wagon with a bunch of stuff.

Really nice place for kids skiing - we even bought both private and group lessons for our 4 and 6 year old children. Unfortunately, an older gentleman with a mustache came out of the private lessons building (near the purple flag area) and very abruptly, angrily, and loudly yelled at my 6-year-old to “get OFF that snowman!” when I was standing right next to him. First of all, he’s 6, secondly, he was unaware that he wasn’t supposed to climb around in the snow, and thirdly, my son definitely did not deserve to be scolded by an old man. Instead, the delivery of the message could have been much kinder, and age-appropriate. This man yelled at him as if he was doing vandalism to the property. Very poor review due to this circumstance and it was our very first time here. Will be reporting to the manager as well.
