I had a great experience at the Sanborn Guest House. Gary was a great host -- very kind and responsive. Rooms were clean with your own living area and bathroom. There's a shared kitchen with the other guest house but I never had issue and didn't ever see the other guests. Great value for your money, and it felt like home. I loved the peaceful backyard. Will definitely stay here again when I go back to visit LA.

Easily one of the nicest accommodations I ever had abroad. The house is beautiful and my room seemed like home after a short time. The area is really nice with bus stops a few steps away. There are also some restaurants. The owner is very nice and helpful.

We had an amazing stay in the suite room at Sanborn Guest House. The place was very clean and decorated tastefully. We had access to a full kitchen. The street is very quiet and the cute little garden is perfect for working and dining outside. You're also within walking distance of the best restaurants/bars and shops silverlake has to offer. The owners were very helpful and flexible. This guest house is a hidden gem and I can't recommend it enough.

Excellent property, well maintained. The home is located in the Silver Lake neighborhood, within walking distance of great coffee shops, eateries, quirky shopping. We didn't get to meet Jaime during our two night stay, but Gary is a personable, thoughtful host. We will check out Sanborn before we consider other properties should we get the opportunity to return!

We just got back from two weeks in LA. Sanborn Guest House was our home away from home and we couldn’t have been more happy to have this as our home base. Gary and Jaime were the best hosts you could have. They took time to show us where everything was located even though we got in super late at night. Everything you need is available and some. It is very clean and well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and the location is perfect. It was easy to get anywhere in LA from the Sanborn House and there are great local eateries and shops within walking distance. ||||Thank you Gary and Jaime for being such great hosts and such a lovely place to stay!

It's a great place to stay - feels homey and the room is spacious. Gary and Jaime are wonderful hosts - they are very responsive to any questions, and provide tips on local eateries and things to do.

The rooms have character, not like a soulless hotel. Nice artwork (painted by Gary!) on the walls, books on the bookshelf and plenty of space to stretch out and relax.

The shared kitchen is handy if you want to save a little money and make your own meals. The Sanborn Guest House is in a quiet and safe residential area, within easy walking distance of shops and eating on Sunset Blvd.

If you have a car, there is off-street parking secured by a gate. Each room has a separate private entrance.

I cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you're looking for a change of pace from a "regular" hotel.

Great clean & basic home stay. 2 rooms in a very quiet & safe neighborhood with great places nearby (walkable).||Our room was large, great aircond, extra dbl firm comfy bed, plenty of light & curtains, no facilities-but great outdoor area with secure parking, small ensuite -shower & toilet, shared kitchen with all you need, close to Hollywood with bus nearby, approx 1hr from LAX, Beverly Hills and great hosts. ||Enjoyed our (couple) 3 day stay.

This is a charming house on a quiet corner in Silver Lake, with a collection of neighborhood restaurants and shops starting just a block away. I stayed in the Guest Room, which is low-key stylish and comfortable, and perfect for a solo traveler. Hosts Gary and Jaime are friendly and helpful, but once they turn over the key, the place is yours. The location is good for transit connections as well as walkability. Staying here gave me a good feel for neighborhood life in LA.
