We just stopped for drinks after visiting nearby shops in La Mesa. Our server was excellent. My husband had a barrio loger and I had the Hibiscus Cooler (non-alcoholic). I can't comment on the food as we didn't give it a try, but the drinks were fine and the patio seating was nice.

Ambiance and service were really good, I loved my espresso martini. The pretzel bites were good but I didn’t care for the mustard. It tasted like watered down stone ground but the cheese dip was tasty. The fish and chips were alright, the coleslaw was not my thing. I would definitely come back for the drinks and possibly explore more of the menu.

First time here and I'm glad we picked it. The waitress was very friendly with a nice, chill bar atmosphere. The poke nachos was excellent! Wontons as the tortilla chips with poke and avocado. Ended up getting the Swiss mushroom burger. If you like mushrooms then try this burger! Will come again as I enjoyed the food.

Very charming bar and eatery! We got outdoor seating around 1:30 pm on Friday while La Mesa was setting up for the weekly street fair. Great service! We each had their Falafel Plate with a side salad, hummus, pita and tatziki. The falafels were crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Easily the best we have had in years. Their Red Ale was smooth and flavorful, albeit a bit flat. Great service and great decor. They do allow you pooch companions and even offer a reasonably priced burger plate for them. If you arrive before the weekly street fair you can get a good outdoor seat and watch the setup. The fair opens at 3 pm but some vendors are open earlier. This will be a regular stop for us! Highly recommended!

Had a really good first time experience here and our server was Spencer. He was really helpful efficient quick and courteous.
The owner Brenda came over and said hello and asked how her food was and specifically asked about our brunch meal even though we didn’t have the bacon maple syrup, they used real maple syrup and it was delicious on the French toast.

TV screens were lively, they have a big a screen and everyone looked like they were having a good time.

Food was excellent for brunch and would recommend it to friends and family.

Went for a late lunch after the lunch rush, and the food and service left much to be desired. The Basic Burger ($16 with chips, or + $3 to upgrade to fries) was bland and worse than comparable burgers from spots like this. Even the Happy Hour fries ($7 instead of $9) were just OK, nothing special and a small portion. Our server didn’t check on us much (the place puts out water so servers do not need to wait on tables as much) and forgot to give us our cocktail, so at the end we said that’s ok we’ll cancel the cocktail, and then the server said oh no they forgot.

Would not come back again since all the food was just average to below average compared to similar places

I just love this little local restaurant. First, the outdoor dining is very appealing. It’s nice to just sit and watch the passersby on a beautiful day

But what keeps me coming back is the amazing tacos that they serve! I’m gluten-free so I really can’t partake in the burgers and such, but these tacos are fantastic, highly recommend the fish taco and the short rib taco. They’re so good. I just keep getting the same thing every time I go back.

Service is always great The staff has a smile on their face and the food is brought out in just the right amount of time.

Highly recommend this place if you were in downtown La Mesa for lunch or dinner !

For those who are new to la Mesa, you should step inside this place called The curbside. The staff is very welcoming and you can hear the customers rejoice in wine and cocktails in the atmosphere. The waitress was very approachable and was very fast, with serving my rum and coke. 5 TVs with different stations on them. There's limited parking outside. It is handicap accessible. They do have approachable seats for handicaps. You can eat outside on their patio under the umbrellas. The food is very tasty. My wife has the "la Mesa" grilled chicken with avocado, tomato lettuce and back on toasted white bread "I" had the chicken bites and fries.they were 🔥 hot and fresh.
