To be honest, I get impressed quite fast. But this experience was totally worth it! Yeah price is a little (sarcastic) higher than just the normal Sushi restaurant, but the very quality and taste and how it's made is just awesome! Like really the best Sushi I had in my life and i've been to a lot of Sushis before.
Highly recommend it!

We were recommended by the chef to choose omakase, which we found to be reasonably priced compared to other omakase restaurants that can cost over $100-200. The chef took pride in his job and even taught us how to use chopsticks and how to align the food properly, which made for a unique experience. The food was seasoning-based and although it was a bit salty for my taste, it was still delicious.

OMG best sushi place I ever had . Came to Laguna hills for vacation and tried this place on a whim . Best decision my wife and I made in food choices. Try the octopus,try the bake mussell.great chef and amazing customer service . I will come from the Bay area for this place again.

I found this restaurant disappointing. I ordered a combination meal, here are my impressions:
Miso soup- served warm but not hot
Salmon teriyaki- overcooked, dry
Potato salad - ordinary, no flavor or texture nuances
Price was inflated for what was provided.

This is a great, unexpected treat in a strip mall in Laguna Hills. Some of the best sushi I have had in quite some time. We ordered omakse and each dish was better than the last. The service was prompt and polite. Small store front and not much in terms of atmosphere, but that is an easy trade off for the great food!

True Japanese sushi chef's. Majority of Sushi restaurants are owned by Koreans. Ask to be surprised by them to eat how it should be tasted & presented l.

I’ll always miss Hiro & Tatsu but Yasu, the new Mgmt, and Team will not disappoint. The new renovations look fantastic, and they still do the classics that we all fell in love with but will also provide new dishes which is a great change of pace. I’ve been to “top-notch” sushi restaurants in OC and LA and Kotobuki is still my number 1.
