Location, Location, Location! |Imagine waking every morning to a gorgeous ocean view featuring Catalina Island! ||We've just completed a wonderful one-week stay at Laguna Shores, which is located right on Cliff Drive across from Heisler Park and the Pacific Ocean. The "bird rock" tide pools are located just down the steps from Heisler Park, too.||The free Laguna Beach trolly stops just a block away (the long coast ride is a must) and the popular Main Beach and downtown Laguna Beach are a 1/4 mile stroll away. ||Our studio suite was just right and featured a fully appointed kitchen, and by fully appointed I mean it had everything needed to cook and enjoy our own meals. I was surprised to even find a blender and hand-mixer, mixing bowls, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, cooking utensils, dish pan, drying rack - everything!||The murphy-bed was surprisingly comfortable, too! ||I've noted that some reviewers found the rooms dated or complained of street noise - we do not share that complaint at all. The location is beachfront Laguna Beach, so of course during the day we heard a bit of noise from cars parking on the street at the meters, car doors closing, some people laughing and talking - but that is all part of the beach experience. Laguna Shores is a very typical beach motel, very clean, and similar to other beach motels up and down the west coast. ||If you want the true "feel" and experience of living in Laguna Beach, then Laguna Shores is for you! (If you want fancy and dead silence, head for the Ritz.)||Yes! We will be back again before the summer crowds.

I’ll start with the worst -
My family and I were over headcount due to planning issues, we couldn’t get in, unless… said the gate worker.. throw some money. We had money of course but only wanted to give him $20 and he demanded more to let us in. He ended up taking the $20 and letting us in. THAT IS SO CRAZY. I understand we are over headcount and he has his policies but we have things paid for, for our stay. Towards the night time the other gate workers expressed how they aren’t all like that and they apologized on behalf of worker, and yes I know his name. Mosquitos were a BOTHER, couldn’t even swim outside without getting bit on the face or basically anywhere, it’s like you had to be inside for the most part during the night.
Far from the stores, some of the roads were bad on the way. Random police on the road trying to pull people over/get people to stop for any reason at all just to get you to pay them or pay a ticket ( one of the roads that leads you to the resort)..

On the bright side, the place was really nice. Rooms were good, everything seemed clean, I loved the look of the house. I hardly did anything in the resort towards the beach line but my other members said it was beautiful.

Retro cool — Enter through an ordinary street frontage and be prepared to be wowed by stunning ocean-front views and front-row access to Heisler Park and the beautiful beach coves. Walk outside and just hop on the shuttle that runs every 20 minutes and takes you to all of the Laguna Village fun. Being there is like having private access to a historic family beach compound.

4:30pm check in with a 10am check out is absolutely absurd. for a place severely lacking in amenities, the least they could do is provide reasonable check in and out. our room had a layer of dust over the floors (check the bottom of your feet). extremely dated. the location is great but we didn't have a room with a view so didn't matter. stay far away - worth it to spend a little more for tolerable accommodations.

Nicely located beside park and beach; suites are spacious - 340 sq ft - and very well appointed. BUT, we booked well in advance with booking.com and feel that we ended up paying a premium for a room with a dark courtyard exposure rather than bright ocean view. Bargain more wisely than we did before you book.

Hated the noise. You can hear everything around you from above and neighbors across the hall, it felt like a herd of elephants was staying above us. I broke my foot in two places the 2 days before we left and couldn’t not go because it was a work trip. We brought our family with our daughters, both under 2. There was no consideration for handicapped accessibility, no consideration for the noise and traveling with babies, we were even expected to park in a 3/4 sized parking spot (most likely for a motorcycle while driving an SUV) even though i was wheing myself in a knee scooter- there was no understanding or compassion/exceptions from the front desk. The woman at reception on our second night made accommodations and let us park in another spot closer to the stairs, again, not the most helpful but at least our rental car wouldn’t be hit in that location. The price was reasonable, location was exceptional, facilities beautiful, the staff was subpar. We also were denied two extra blankets, because there was no bedding provided for the pull out couch bed and or blnket for the pack and play, so essentially we weren’t asking for extra bedding at all. But I felt as if I was asking for an extra limb by the look I was given upon my request for bedding. Seriously, beautiful location, lovely facility, super cute, but I think unreasonable staff can make even the most beautiful place feel bad.

I have been here twice now with my sister, and I absolutely love it! The view from the room is phenomenal. The gorgeous Park and Beach directly across the street is so nice to walk and just to look at the beauty.

We love returning to this place every year. The rooms have a stunning view. Heisler Park is right across the street and it is one of the most beautiful parts you’ll ever find. There are paths all over the place. The beaches are fabulous. But back to the resort. The staff is so friendly and they snap To it if there is a problem. The furniture could use some updating. As could the curtains. But they keep it clean and they have a fully stocked kitchen for all your pan and dishes needs
We highly recommend it!
