We booked a 2 night stay at the Doryman's In. and it was the worst night sleep of all the hotels I've stayed in. ||According to Expedia, I spent 34 nights in hotels in 2024 with their year end summary. I know my hotels. ||The Doryman's Inn is very charming and the location is excellent, until I realized that being with inches from a huge parking lot would keep me up all night. From drifters, tailgating in the parking lot at 1:45am, to motorcyclists peeling out and revving for attention, to partyers smoking up right below the thin windows in Room 5 (ocean view prices with parking lot vibes), to a maintenance worker banging around at 8am, I will not be returning and highly recommend you look elsewhere, too. ||Did I mention that the power went out, our room was cold due to the cracked skylight window bringing in a draft-- to non-operating elevators for over 24 hours? The "breakfast" isn't even work mentioning. The coffee was so lukewarm and watered down that I just poured it down the sink. Not worth it. Just keep scrolling. Oh well. No management to offer any apologies or updates to limited power, meanwhile there is a high end restaurant downstairs with no complimentary canapés for the inconveniences. Thoroughly disappointed.

My mom and I stayed here and it was lovely! It is right on the beach and Pier. There's great views from the roof deck and the outdoor patio. The breakfast was light, which is great before heading to the beach. The room we stayed in was large with a very comfortable bed and the big marble shower was great. the room was spotless. The decor is so charming and the front desk staff were excellent - very kind, helpful, and pleasant. Parking is easy, after unloading upfront you park in a designated lot across the street.

This was the WORST hotel experience I've ever had due to the absolute insane noise throughout the night coming from the parking lot below the hotel. Revving cars, blasting music from said cars, people screaming/smoking/cussing and everything else you could potentially imagine coming from outside what sounded like a nightclub at 2 in the morning. I had to call the police multiple times to finally come enforce the insanely loud crowd out of the parking lot. Worst night of sleep I've ever gotten at a hotel. Given the location of the hotel right near the beach it's incredibly unfortunate that this occurs. Don't be fooled by the low price, I wouldn't pay anything to stay at this hotel again.

Pros: Great location. Ocean view. Cool historical type rooms.
Cons: Loud at night with people revving engines at beach and bar below. No bottled water for the overpriced room. Forget about any modern accessories such as outlets to charge phones or updated televisions, the owner is on a budget to fund his vacations…

Perfect! I can only use the word perfect to describe, if there's 7 stars, I will give 7 stars. The decorations, cleaning, even the smell of the soap, everything is just awesome!!

Interesting place. Good thing they have a space reserved for customers to drop off their luggage 🧳 and check in. Parking on the weekend for non-guests is extremely challenging. Once you check in, they have a private lot for guests to park. A valet runs that lot as they rent out empty spaces when possible.
It's a quaint hotel. Bathrooms are showing their age and could use a little TLC.
You step down into the shower that has old brass nozzles that once must have offered a mini jacuzzi. Ours didn't look like it had functioned for years.
It's a bit like staying at your wealthy, stuck in her youth, grandmother's house. Victorian decor, 4 post beds, lots of mirrors (our room had 8), and a seating area to enjoy their continental breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay, the AC worked, the proximity to 21 Oceanfront and "secret" internal passage to it, was fun.
Not cheap but memorable.

Run don’t walk to get a room from this place! Lauren at the front desk has gone above and beyond to make this stay so special that we decided to stay another night! I would hire her in a second except I need her here because this is our forever date night spot!!! Thank you Lauren and Dorymans Inn!!!

If you are looking for the best, close location to the beach this place is perfect! You will be walking distance to everything! Our car was unloaded and parked so we never had to deal with the crazy parking traffic of the Newport pier area.

Lauren, at the front desk, is extremely hospitable and helpful. Her personality is warm and welcoming! She went out of her way to help with anything we requested.

The ambiance from the windows gives you the peaceful waves breaking and the view of the beach with people enjoying the water. It’s a party night-life location but very entertaining!

The Victorian decorated room has features that feel like an English castle , while the cleanliness is superb!

For an exquisitely personal, friendly, and wonderful small hotel stay, Dorymans’s Inn is a ten!
