"This place is in the cutest area to start Amazing and fast service without being overbearing. The drinks are amazing and the food was delicious. I got the honey fried chicken. The chicken was slightly dry, but it was amazing crunchy breading, and the mashed potatoes that came with it were perfect. The service we received here was the best service I've experienced in quite some time. Everyone greeted us with a smile, and they worked as a team to take care of their guests. Highly recommend this restaurant."

Hmm…where to start…

I’ll start by saying that I will definitely be coming back though my first visit was interesting.

I went here with a small group for brunch.
It started off with a weird interaction with the hostess. She wasn’t that friendly and also gave us wrong information and menus. For example, she gave a kids menu but let us know it was just used for coloring and that none of the items were available to order from that menu. She also gave us mixture of brunch and dinner menus.

Our server then came to the table and let us know that the child at our table could definitely order from the kids menu and he quickly gave us all brunch menus. Our server was very friendly and very honest. He forgot one of our drinks and one of our sides and one of our entrees. He could have easily made up an excuse as to why those items didn’t come to the table, but he didn’t. Thank goodness too as half of us have worked in the food industry and knew that he just forgot to bring coffee and put our orders in to the computer for the kitchen. It happens…it was busy and he was apologetic. All is well that ends well, right?

Now the food…YUM! All of us enjoyed our meals. And on top of that…we all agreed that everything that came to the table looked delicious. Presentation, taste and quantity was all a 10 out of 10. I would say that the food made up for the hostess and the forgetfulness of the server. That doesn’t always happen. The food is what will bring me back for another meal.

As far as the ambience…we sat ā€œoutsideā€. Normally I don’t care to sit outside in the winter, but while we sat at our table, it was an enclosed patio with heat lamps. Sweet!
They can open/roll up sides of the patio so it’s not completely enclosed…they did that as we were leaving.
The only thing I didn’t care for was the amount of dogs I seemed to be surrounded by while I was there…dogs at almost every table around us…some barking and some shaking out their fur. So now that I know about the dog friendly patio, I will just request to sit inside in the future. Easy fix.

Overall, I liked this restaurant. My only comment is that their pulled pork silog is not seasoned enough. I saw a similar review about the lack of flavor. I ended up sprinkling more salt and pepper on the meat. I hope Hideout will see this comment and adjust the recipe. Please take this as a constructive criticism so you'll increase your repeat customers. 😊

I’ve had the Hideout Kitchen on my list for a while but when I pulled up I realized this was their new location! There’s street parking and some lots nearby. I’ve seen them on IG and noticed that their weekend brunch is very popular! I definitely want to come back and give it a try. We came here on a Friday for brunch and it wasn’t too busy, there’s both indoor and outdoor seating and full bar! I asked what the most popular breakfast items were and they said the Waffle Sandwich which is what I got and my friend got the Pulled Pork Silog. The waffle sandwich was huge and hearty- country fried steak with eggs, cheese, and waffles and syrup. I got it with a side of fries. Kind of messy to eat but I used a fork and knife. My friend got the pulled pork Silog which is a Filipino traditional breakfast meal with meat (pulled pork) garlic fried rice, egg, and usually a tomato. The pork was so good, we didn’t finish our meals and was able to take it home for leftovers. I know they have fancy drinks and other breakfast items over the weekend. Service was great!

I will caveat this by saying it was absolutely slammed when we arrived and got progressively more slammed after we placed our order. Service was definitely on the more leisurely side but that’s fine - it’s brunch. When the food came out, one of the sides was wrong but our waitress remedied the situation. We were ravenous and devoured every bite. My frittata was okay, it seemed like it may have been sitting out for a while but I appreciated the fresh fruit. The highlight may have been the sourdough toast with jelly.

Weekend lunch with family and friends. Group of five.
Ambience: busy Sunday lunch group with usual Lafayette crowd. The place was full.
Service: our waiter was attentive. He has good knowledge of the menu and kept our glasses filled with water. Not hovering but not absent either.
Food: here’s the criticism- 1. The food tasted ā€˜natural’, so not a lot of seasoning, some would even say taste, but maybe that’s why we have the salt and pepper shakers.
2. My smoked salmon benedict was supposed to come with crispy capers. There wasn’t any. Though I did like the poached egg being not too runny.
3. Here’s the shocker- one of our group who ordered the tuna panini bit into— A Flat Round BATTERY! Yes, a battery. Now how in the world can a battery end up in a tuna sandwich is super weird! And yucky! A first for all of us. Management did come up to apologize and comp the order but it left a ā€˜bad taste’ in his mouth, nonetheless.
Overall: the location is good for spending a couple of hours in the neighborhood. Lots of interesting but overpriced stores around.

Food is of the highest quality and price is valid.

Update:

We came for a Baby Sprinkle event. The reservation was at the back of their restaurant. It was a very nice set up. There were maybe 45 plus people that occupied the room. It got really warm in there. They would turn the huge fan on and off because we couldn’t hear each other.

The servers were nice enough and did the best they could to keep drink orders coming. I don’t know if they were waiting for everyone to come to serve the food but it felt like it took forever. We had starters / appetizers but they weren’t coming fast enough. But they were delicious when they came.

The food was beautifully plated, portions were huge, and it was very good. I really like the pulled pork silog. The garlic rice tasted really nice. They may re-think the number of accommodations they can have in that room because it gets really warn in there. But overall it was a nice place for a small event.

Another first for me!!! This place was recommended by my nephew! We went on Easter Sunday and it was a bit busy but the wait wasn't that long. It's not a huge place but they have an outside dining which is nice. In an upscale area. Good place to have brunch and mimosas! We were there for lunch but the menu was brunch hour 10:30am - 3:00pm. Thought that was a bit odd but there were plenty to choose from in the menu. A little disappointed they were sold out of the Pulled Pork Silog (by 12:30 pm) but that only means one thing...that it must be really good! I'll come back for that.

I went with the #waffle-sandwich with country fried steak and sausage gravy! The first bite with waffles that buttery waffle and crisp on that steak was everything! That let you know it was country fried steak, too it off with a drizzle of syrup....oh so good!!!! Also, go ahead and get that Ube pancake! So I can't name all the food we ordered we had a huge party so please check out the pictures!

The staff were super attentive and very friendly. The manager was down to earth, he came to chat with us to make sure everything was good. It's a family owned restaurant so they treat you like family (my opinion:). Love the decor and chill vibe of the restaurant. We'll definitely come back. Still want that Pulled Pork! šŸ˜€
