My husband and I just had our wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park on October 12, 2024, and we chose Continental after tasting their food and interacting with them at a wedding expo event at JFG last year! They were so awesome to work with every step of the way. The manager we worked with, Kristin, was an absolute joy. She was responsive, flexible, and informative throughout our entire year of wedding planning. On top of that, the food at the wedding was delicious! Our guests could not stop raving about the Ancho Chicken Martini presented so creatively in a martini glass. The serving staff was also incredibly friendly, bringing appetizers to the bridal room for me and my bridesmaids to enjoy while we bustled my dress and meeting our guests needs through the night with smiles. Genuinely, we could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you guys a ton!!

I can’t say enough good things about everyone at Continental. From Kristin - who remembered all my small requests and accommodated our numerous last minute menu changes, to the chef who made the food everyone complimented, to the wonderful bartender and other staff who served everyone on our big day! Dinner is probably one of the biggest details of a wedding and we felt so thrilled to have it all come together so well. And the FOOD was so so good (we recommend the Italian Rivera buffet 😉) and looked beautiful, and the price was competitive with the many caterers we looked into. I highly recommend!

It was the diverse menu options that impressed us the most about Continental Catering when we were searching for catering vendors. We immediately booked a tasting and were even more sold by the professionalism, intentionality, and care from the staff. Christie was an absolute joy to work with! Even though we had no idea how things would evolve planning a wedding amidst the pandemic, she made sure to keep us updated with rules and regulations and also helped ease our anxiety around the situation. The care and attention that was put into the tasting experience was phenomenal! The food was delicious during the tasting and even more so on the day of! It’s been three months since our wedding and our guests are still raving about our food, saying that it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted. So much so that there was not even enough left over to take home! We opted for the Italian Riviera and Christie and Chef offered to alter one of our appetizer options in order to make sure everything we offered to our guests was Italian themed which we so appreciated! We also served gelato and our guests loved having a refreshing and delicious dessert to indulge in during the hot August San Diego summer. So much care and attention was placed on our special day from the entire team and we could not be any more grateful that we crossed paths. Thank you so much!!

We knew food was going to be a key part of our wedding. On top of just having great food for our guests, we were also wanting to have something that represented our families (Vietnamese, Italian, and Spanish) so our work was cut out for us.

Once we started working with Continental we felt a lot better about the whole process. They listened to what we wanted and put together a great package that included everything we asked for. From the start, Melissa and Chef Kelly were great to work with. After our first tasting we provided some feedback and were blown away on how receptive and proactive they were in making the changes.

Our guests loved it and we couldn't be happier that we picked Continental Catering.

We had a great experience hiring them for our wedding at Martin Johnson's House. Our main contact, Kristin, was very responsive to our input and she built a menu to our liking. We had Mexican/Californian buffet-style food at our wedding and it was as great as what we had gotten during the private tasting. We would definitely recommend them again for another event, and they are probably the best food vendor for MJH out of the ones that you can pick there.

I have been to many weddings and have always found the food pretty underwhelming. So when it came to planning my own wedding I didn't have high expectations. I contacted all five catering companies on the preferred vendors list provided by my reception venue and Christie from Continental Catering was the only one that actually called and asked us about ourselves, our favorite cuisines, and vision for the wedding. She then created a menu just for us... one that perfectly captured our tastes. When we did the tasting, the food was incredible and we were excited for the wedding, but still didn't expect the food to be as good when cooked in mass quantity. Needless to say (from our rating), the food was AMAZING on the big day. Every single guest I talked too that evening brought up the food, saying that they'd never had such delicious wedding food. Days later and we're still eating the leftovers and loving them. Beyond the food, Christie at Continental Catering made the planning process feel stress free and the staff that worked our event were fantastic and made everyone feel completely taken care of. I cannot say enough wonderful things about CC and would use them again in an instant if I ever needed catering!

I used Continental Catering for my daughter’s baby shower last weekend and thank God I choose this company!
Melissa Valverde was easy to work with, she made great suggestions for our menu, came to our home prior to the event to check out the layout and the flow of the food and beverage stations, etc.
On the day of the event two server’s arrived on time, set up and then laid out the most gorgeous food display…all of it was DELICIOUS! They stayed, served and cleaned up in a quiet and professional manner.
I really can’t thank this company enough, they took a huge load off my shoulders so that I could enjoy the celebration and not have to worry about the food and libations. THANK YOU CONTINENTAL CATERING! 🤗
