I have stayed here at the La Mesa location Holiday Inn Express, on several different recent occasions. This hotel is the best value for sure in all of southern San Diego county area, for the price and the general consistency of everything .

The rooms are always very clean and everything in proper working order. The front desk staff does an excellent job, and I must also mention that I have seen the same people working there over the last year or so; which says a lot about the quality of the facility and management as well.

The bathrooms and showers are always working well with hot water, plenty of towels, complimentary coffee in each room. Complimentary breakfasts with a variety of pretty decent options. Whether it is a week day or week end day, the halls are quiet and parking areas seem pretty safe and sound.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. My mom and I stayed here, last minute, while we took care of my Aunts estate. All of the staff were very personable and absolutely AMAZING during a time that was difficult for us. From the GM to the front staff I truly appreciate everything you did to help us feel comfortable and supported. I actually miss seeing you guys everyday! You really do feel like family and I hope we can come again soon! Love your new Canadian family ❤️

To people who seem surprised at parking fee: the fee is listed clearly in the IHG app. It’s not the fault of the property if potential guests do not read. Back to the review: Anna at the front desk was so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. This hotel is an older property but is well-maintained and very clean! Housekeeping is attentive to details. Quiet even when full. We will be back!

Very nice, clean hotel in a nice area. Easy access to freeway, close to shops and food. Highly recommend for any visit. We stayed one night, room was clean, breakfast had many options and was HOT. Enjoyed our stay. Miguel and Allyson were kind and helpful at the front counter. Great overall stay.

I booked a room with them when I had my home tented for termites. When we arrived, the staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They got myself and my 2 pugs checked in quickly and we even were offered an upgrade in our room. The room itself was, modern, warm, clean, and comfortable. They have gone out of their way to assure you have the best experience there during your stay. The management, Joanie and Niki could not have been warmer and welcoming! Their door is always open for help or compliments! ❤️. Thank you guys for the best stay in San Diego! Me and the pugs will be back anytime we need a room! Pickles and Bam Bam send kisses and tail wags!

First room I got REEKED of smoke and was missing a smoke detector. It was definitely not "perfume" as staff tried to say. Got transfered to another room. Bathroom door was locked. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Whatever they unlocked it with pliars and a paper clip. Afterwards I noticed the filth. Coffee stains on the tile, stains on the pillows, and for some reason HANDPRINTS above the bathroom mirror. Not sure if the room was even cleaned but they absolutely did not do a good job.

The common areas are stark, but what you would expect from a stripped down mid range hotel. Staff was nice during check in and rest of stay. It was after that the problems arose. Upon leaving I accidentally left a Kindle on the nightstand. I called first thing the same day. Was told to call back in the morning 7-8 AM because I had to talk with "housekeeping". Called the next morning at 7:30 AM, and they told me that housekeeping was unavailable. They said they would check with housekeeping and get back to me that day. Nothing. Called the third day with the same run-around.. No call back that day or the last 3 days. A couple weeks later (after this review) I finally got a call back from the very polite and helpful manager. I finally received my kindle after sending my own packaging and return label to them. Revised the review +1 star. One last item: ALL parking spots are "compact" sized (no label saying this). Meaning a normal sized sedan has no space to open the doors.

Great experience! Best hotel in san diego! I was worried about the location but it proved to be perfect. Spent a week here and enjoyed every minute. The pool was great and the breakfast was even better. Spent my nights working out in their amazing gym. 10/10 will come again.
