What an amazing experience, absolutely a must for Tolkien lovers or those who are Hobbits at heart. Love relaxing views and a cozy warm fire, how about delicious food and a cold drink? Well this is the place. The Hosts were extremely nice and helpful. If you truly want to eat like a hobbit I can't recommend the Shire-Cuterie enough!

My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. It was a very nice room and the exterior and interior were themed in a tasteful way. The breakfast was one of the best parts of the stay. We went with our dog and the property was nice to walk around with him. The owners are very attentive and nice.

I had the pleasure of staying at Burrowdale Inn for New Years. I cannot sing it's or the owners praises enough. The attention to detail was stunning! From the grounds to the design of the Hobbit Holes, you can see the dedication and passion Lael & Amy have towards their craft. The hobbit/middle earth inspired breakfasts provided by the staff were delicious and the plating/presentation was immaculate. I truly felt like I was transported to Middle Earth/The Shire during my stay. I would recommend a stay to any true Tolkien fan and can't wait to visit again!

The Hobbit Holes are very cute. My wife and I stayed in the romantic one and it was lovely. It had a very cozy environment with LOTR memorabilia and LOTR books along with other poetry and classic books. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. While the charcuterie board may seem expensive you get a lot, it is fresh, with a wide selection of items and delicious! You definitely could use that as a whole meal or two. The breakfast provided is also delicious!

We stayed 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. It’s close enough to Redding to be able to drive into town for dinner but far enough removed to get a beautiful night sky and no city noise. The hosts were wonderful, the room was comfortable and had everything we could possibly need including a toaster, microwave, refrigerator/ freezer and blender. They even had ice made and waiting for us with chilled mugs in the freezer. The “2nd breakfast” is delivered on a tray every morning and is delicious. They asked before our arrival about any allergies or food aversions so we were sure to enjoy our meals. It felt both luxurious and homey and had little touches everywhere to really feel like you were in the shire. Not cheap but worth every penny.

This is an amazing place! The Hobbit House was unique and every carefully curated detail added a bit of fun. It was luxurious and comfortable. The second breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We also enjoyed a lovely charcuterie board. The hosts also had a basket of snacks available and cold drinks in the refrigerator.
We saw four hawks on our walk, a hummingbird, and butterflies on the flowers outside our door. It would be nice to go again in the fall or winter when we could have a cozy fire in the stove.

By the Maiar, Illuvitar himself could not create a better room experience. As Filgolfin stood against Morgoth, this inn stands strong during not just the First age, but 2025 as well.

As Frodo struggled up Mount Doom, so too did we struggle to leave such a cozy well taken care of room. The food, presentation (even elvish writing on the bed) and location all made it the best thing since that little guy lost his jewelry in that volcanoe thing.

Stayed here during our elopement and everything was perfect. The area feels like youre in the Shire. The hobbit holes are very cozy and comfortable. Second breakfast is delicious, best meals of our whole trip!
