Pros and cons for our Labor Day weekend family trip.
Pros: Pleasant staff (from front desk to housekeeping to breakfast attendant), good location. Also, the Bath & shower in the room provided good water pressure and hot water. 1 hour from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Minutes from local, Bay area spots which make for great shopping, sightseeing.
Cons: hallways are muggy and kind of smell. Asked for cleaning wipes for the gym morning and night for 3 days and they were never refilled (gross). No lounging chairs by the pool. Office center was unbearably hot. Breakfast left much to be desired. Very little in the way of waffle toppings, no cheese for anything, the coffee was so bad (hint, they just need to use less water when brewing). Navigating the area is a challenge, you are just always in someone's way, etc. No Bible in the room. I know it may seem old fashioned but it is comforting to see those Gideon Bibles in the room. Very small rooms! Beware the online photos, they are most certainly presenting an idealistic picture that does not match the experience.
All in all, I can't complain too much because the room was cheap, but we will try somewhere else next time, particularly with a better breakfast.

I stayed here for a week on vacation and had the view of the bay. The sunset every night was quite a view. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked. The hotel was quiet, the breakfast was perfect as well as the balcony seating to eat it. The staff are friendly and I really enjoyed my stay. The alligator boardwalk was pretty cool as well not to mention the cool fiddler crabs in the parking area so watch out for them they are super cute. The location is close to nearby food places. I will definitely stay again real soon. Thanks

Staff is AMAZING! Rooms, not so much. Our first room on the 5th floor, smelled like they were trying to cover an unpleasant smell up. The amount of carpet powder they used was ungodly! We left our balcony door open for a good 2 hours before we eventually changed rooms. They moved us down to the 4th floor. Room was much better as far as smell. The hallways have a slight moldy/wet smell to them. The shower had amazing pressure probably, my favorite thing in the hotel. The hotel has a used feel to it. Our second room had Cheerios next to the night stand from the previous people. The “free” breakfast wasn’t even worth eating. I grabbed an apple and ended up tossing it out as it was unbelievably bruised and the skin on it was busted open. For nearly $200 I had higher expectations. I wouldn’t stay again.

Excellent hotel!! I was greeted and helped by Kim and she is fantastic. The hotel is a little older but seems to have been renovated lately. Either way, it looks great. I had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast is always phenomenal. Thank you and best of luck.

We stayed for one night. Had a beautiful bay view. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. She recommended a great place for dinner and overall had a great stay. Room AC is a little loud and the room felt a little stuffy but overall great for a quick stop.

In summary, the whole place is just plain run down. Carpets moldy, air conditioner not reliable, mattress hard as a rock, wall paper peeling off walls in the hallways and room, shower head broken. Could go on and on. Place just aged and in desperate need of a good facelift. Definitely nor worth the +$200 a night room rate.

Was on my way to New Orleans to help with hurricane cleanup and arrived at location at approximately 1:30am. Walked in and asked if he had any rooms available and was told yes but it will be 40 minutes because I’m doing an audit. I asked what’s that mean? And was told very loud & rudely I’ve already told you once that I’m doing an audit. So I said I’m sorry but I don’t know what that means and he gave me a mad look so I turned and walked out and got a room at Home 2 and they were very pleasant and accommodating. I’ve stayed at this Hampton location many times but was very disappointed with this interaction.

A great location, but the highlight of the hotel is the staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I don’t remember a time when I have encountered a staff that all seemed to enjoy their work and engaged with the guest in such a pleasant manner.
