We stayed at The Atherton Inn over Thanksgiving weekend. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Our room was beautiful, quiet and extremely clean. The breakfast was delicious and the conversation with other guests was enjoyable. The staff could not be more accommodating and attentive to every request.||We will definitely be back anytime we are in the area and highly recommend it for a comfortable and warm alternative to a hotel.

The Atherton Inn is a special place. Certainly, as a facility, it's high quality. Large, well-appointed rooms, inviting and relaxing common areas; every need considered. But even more so it has the right feel: welcoming, friendly, personal – like a home. Yet with quietude; a true decompression zone. Plus, those breakfasts are a wow! Made to order home cooking; the French toast was just like ours! And not to forget Innkeeper Ann Higgins. She's attentive, got personality, makes it all easy, keeps everything on track. We found ourselves wondering, "What are those poor folks doing over at the Hyatt?" As an enjoyable and unique hideaway-retreat, put the Atherton Inn at the top of your list!

My wife and I needed a place for a few days and we were directed here. From the street we thought that we were lost for a minute. The Atherton Inn is off the main thoroughfares yet close to just about anything you could need. In fact, the location is so convenient that I rode my bike everywhere I needed to be. When we arrived, we were told to make ourselves at home by Ann, our host. I did that immediately,

The first thing I noticed was that this didn't have hotel furniture. It really felt like I was at a friend's house. The furniture was comfortable. The temperature was comfortable. Everything about the house was intuitive. There was tea and coffee available as well as a fruit bowl and the things that you'd have in your own kitchen. everything was inviting as well.

The neighborhood is very safe, and it was QUIET. I was sure that I was the only person in the house. As it happened, all of the suites were booked. There wasn't any of the usual road noise that you may get at a hotel on the main drag. The seemingly elusive commodity of quiet and peacefulness is here. The rooms are spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a gas fireplace, but the temps were such that we chose not to use it. We did most of our dining (other than breakfast) outside on the back patio while watching the hummingbirds. The grounds are well kept and again comfortable.

The rooms like the rest of the house were well laid out. We had everything we needed. Laundry was available if we needed as well as a refrigerator and microwave. All of the rooms are upstairs. There's an elevator for those who may have mobility issues and low shower curbs.

Since it was a bed and breakfast I was looking forward to that part. Depending on the day, Ann or Maria will make your breakfast to order. There are no heat lamps! We enjoyed the company of the other guests, and nobody felt rushed.

There was a lot of thought put into the layout of this house, and it was evident in the week we spent there. So, the short version here is: The accommodations were comfortable, and everything worked. Would we stay here again? yes, we will

We have stayed at the Atherton Inn several times a year for several years now. The location is perfect. It’s close to our family. It is a warm and welcoming bed-and-breakfast that makes you feel comfortable and right at home. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. We highly recommend it!

We’ve been staying here about twice a year for many years. It’s perfect! Huge bedrooms with fireplaces, great showers and all the comforts of home. A cozy place, with six rooms and excellent breakfast. Meet people from all over the world for lively chat if you’re so inclined. Ann, the innkeeper, is a terrific host as is Maria, her aide de camp. Don’t even think of staying anywhere else!

Beautiful B&B in a nice residential area convenient to Stanford University. We stayed in the least expensive room and it was spacious and wonderfully comfortable. Friendly staff and very good cooked-to-order breakfast. Highly recommended

Great little inn in a residential neighborhood- minutes away from Woodside road, the Inn is like staying at someone‘s house. Living room is modern, breakfast is served 8-10am. Some rooms have balcony and gas fireplace. Super clean , self serve cocktails, easy parking. Highly recommend ! Home away from home !
