Absolutely adorable, quiet inn. Only 10-11 rooms, so there is a parking spot for each room. My spouse and I stayed to celebrate our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary room upgrade. The room had a private balcony and easy-to-use fireplace. They have a refrigerator in the lobby with a good drink selection, breakfast in the morning, and cookies in the afternoon. Big shout-out to Luna who carried our bags up the stairs. Nice location close to the wharf and other dining options. Also recommend Surf School Santa Cruz if you are interested in a reasonably priced private lesson. Overall, great experience; beautiful building; other guests were quiet and respectful. Wish we had stayed another night!

Stunning B & B perched safely (always a top concern for me as a retired cop) on top of a hill with great views of the beach and pier, yet easily walkable to both. Our first ever visit to the area for an anniversary trip from FL. Complimentary on site parking. Friendly front desk staff. Champagne & snacks sent up to our room for our anniversary. We had a GREAT view (Room 3) and others we spoke to loved their rooms also. Nice front porch and second floor porch available to all guests. Included is a nice selection of self serve breakfast items including one hot dish (8:30-10:30). Also free wine and snacks from 4:30-5:30pm. Bikes available to ride up the coast or in town. Just a beautiful place!

If u r looking for a state of the art hotel with modern comforts this ain't it. But if you like old school charms & cozy mansion with creaky floors then voila. ||Front lounge with the bay window was gorgeous, here guests can socialize while enjoying wine or coffee. 2F balcony is where u want to go for sunset & sunrise esp the latter, from here you have a partial view of the wharf, ocean & beach. Evening HH driniks/snacks & BF were served in a cozy dining area with fireplace. HH red wine was surprisingly good & smooth, HH snacks were prob better than BF imo. BF was avg, only hot item was scramble egg, then the usual mundane staff albeit nicely arranged. ||Most guest rooms are on 2F & 3F, i stayed at the solitary bungalow outside (room #10). Room was avg size & the decor was cute & charming, with mid size TV, fridge & Keurig, no AC but has heating, no chair or desk, no safety box, bed was on the softer side but comfy, giant plushed pillows, welcome cookie on the bed was delish, dock station with multip slots for USB or chargers||Bathroom was lovely in a classic way, large walk in shower with okay water pressure, the water temp changed multi times on its own in the middle of my shower, annoying. Shampoo & body wash were of excellent quality with exotic scents. ||Complimentary parking (1 car per room), outside & parking lot were well lit & felt safe. Hotel is next to West Cliff drive so there will be road noises, esp when a Hartley or large engine car drove by. ||Overall i quite enjoy the stay & would def return when the price is right again.

The building itself is beautiful and historic and probably the most pleasant looking in Santa Cruz. Inside and out the place has a very homey elegant atmosphere. The architecture is like no other, huge gorgeous windows with lots of natural light, interior is so inviting with welcoming shades of soft yellows and blues. Absolutely stunning all around. The amenities are like no other place I’ve ever stayed. With a fridge that is open access to sodas and sparkling water. They offered milk and juice for my one year old, fresh baked goods put out daily. Amazing home made complimentary breakfast. The more to love package came with champagne and snacks served on a tray, real mugs for coffee in the rooms was such a nice touch, robes for after showers. Beautiful marble bathrooms and the most kind, helpful staff. There’s closets in the halls with anything you may have forgotten like toothpaste, razors, extra soaps and towels. Very nice touch. Decks to drink your coffee or wine, over looking the beach. And a wine and cheese social was a very nice touch. Couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience.

Having arrived a month early, we were pleased that Mary could accommodate us in a hotel that was almost full). The hotel itself is an historic building hotel with all the modern amenities. This was wonderful, beds very comfortable, linen soft and quiet (not noisy when you turn), bathroom well appointed with good toiletries (that are not attached to the wall), pillows amazing, (overall sleep quality perfect). Breakfast basic, as is the wine and cheese offered, however, I would definitely stay at this or (based on my stay) any of the Four Sister properties. Geographically the two is close to the main shopping area (approximately 10 min walk), and the boardwalk is just down a short hill). Whilst near a semi busy road there was no noise in our room. Really did enjoy it, and as said would have been on of the best hotel sleeping experiences I have had and we stay at a lot of hotels.

Cute cosy room with a fireplace overlooking the sea. Bed was comfy and hotel room was charming. Breakfast was ok - self serve cheesy eggs, fruit and some cake. I really think there’s room for so much improvement in the setting for breakfast to bring this in line with the rest of the hotel. The location is unmatched, it’s right by the wharf and everything is walkable. Parking was easy. ||Sadly the hotel didn’t want to help with holding our luggage for a few hours after check out while we walked to downtown - they did agree but just told us they would have it in corner of the main reception room, they would not put it in another room away from guests. I didn’t feel comfortable with this and felt it was really unhelpful and that I wasn’t asking for something above and beyond, just a standard request. ||WiFi from room 4 was not stable and not really useable - I didn't mention this at the time because I could live without it. No YouTube or Netflix on the tv. No safe in the room. ||In any case I’d definitely still recommend this hotel!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the tail end of our vacation, and we weren’t disappointed! We were greeted immediately upon arrival by an effervescent young lady who got us checked in and off to our room quickly. We were both well pleased with the room upon entry…a beautifully appointed bed, three lovely windows (one of which faced the beach), a quaint sitting area, and a well designed bathroom. We really got a treat later that night as we climbed into bed..it was wonderfully firm and the sheets were so soft and luxurious.|Wine, coffee, and cookies are made available in the afternoon, and we availed ourselves of the cookies. As Ana fed bonus, filtered water and sodas are available all day long, and I also took advantage of the also available hot chocolate.|Breakfast was hot and ready each morning. It consisted of a quiche (day 1) and breakfast bread/cake (day 2). Toast and English muffins were also available along with yogurt (and accompanying granola, etc.). Juices and milk rounded out the selection.|They have chairs out on the second floor balcony, tables and chairs on the front porch, and Adirondack chairs on the front yard for sitting around and reading/talking/etc. Finally, they have a couple of bikes available for use on a first-come, first-served basis.|One caution, if coming up the hill to the inn, turn right immediately upon seeing the bears (I missed the turn initially and had to come back). I would definitely stay here again if/when I was in the area.|The checkout process was easy just like at a major hotel also.

We had an amazing time at the West Cliff Inn! The hotel is lovely with a lot of character. The bed was very comfortable. Rebecca was outstanding. She was helpful, caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. The breakfasts were awesome too! Can’t wait to go back.
