Very well located, if you plan to visit Claremont (great downtown area!), and the staff was friendly, but we expected more at this price point. ||Bartender was very nice, but missed a key ingredient on the cocktail menu (thus overcharging a few bucks, though I didn’t feel it worth correcting). Also had to call back to request folio after checking out. Again, no big deal, but shouldn’t happen. ||Lounge, and courtyard (with games and fire pits) were very cool… (free) breakfast just OK (essentially “continental”). ||Room had a unique style and large tub, and bed was fine, but aged tile shower (poor temp control and water flow) and “so you can’t steal them” hookless coat hangers were far more Holiday Inn than Four Sisters boutique.

There's really nowhere else to stay downtown Claremont. Enjoy happy hour with games in the patio in front of a forw pit. Open your windows and doors for air because you're safe to do so. Then, walk to great restaurants.

As soon as our daughter accepted to attend Scripps College (May 2024) ,my husband booked this hotel for Family weekend ( Feb 2025) because it is located in the center of town and supposedly very nice accommodations. Due to the college events happening this weekend, online booking wasn't available. Reservations had to be booked over the phone and paid for up front. He requested a room with 2 queen beds. Apparently those were already taken so the person taking reservations suggested a King with a twin on the courtyard level.|Fast forward to last weekend... we( my husband, younger daughter and I ) arrived at 11:30 pm Friday night, tired after a long travel day from the east coast, to find the room had a king bed and no twin or room for a twin, floor to ceiling doors and windows were the only access into the room and it was literally in the courtyard, and it was an ADA room that also happened to be in very worn shape and very basic old exposed shelving. What the reservation person neglected to explain over the phone was that the twin was a pull out couch and that courtyard level meant the bar and fire pit seating right outside the room with music going until 11pm. The little loveseat that opened up to the twin bed was an incredibly uncomfortable thin mattress that you could actually feel the coils. The room was so small we had to move the desk to open up the bed then to get around the room we had to crawl over the cot or bed. |It was VERY clear to us that even reserving 9 months before meant nothing to them to set aside an appropriate room. Being a late night arrival meant getting the absolute worst room left in the hotel ( for over $500/night. we booked for 3 nights) |The people working the front desk were kind but their hands were tied. There wasn't anything they could do. |The manager ( Christine) was off the for weekend but communicated with us THROUGH the front desk person. Never reached out to us directly the entire weekend. The only thing Christine offered us ,since they were fully booked, was a refund for saturday and sunday night if we wanted to find a different hotel to stay. Oh- and we had to check out by noon ( so drop the events at the school to find a hotel and check out on their timeframe). No refund or discount offered for Friday night since we were only in the room for less than 12 hours! no discount on the room for the rest of the weekend. Not even a small courtesy acknowledgement of a drink voucher at the bar. Absolutely nothing. Moving hotels was not an option for us. Nothing close by had availability. By the way, on Sunday we saw a group checking in so they could have given us a better room at least for Sunday night. || The location of the hotel to the campus and in the center of the village of Claremont is ideal, but turns out that is the only redeeming quality of Hotel Casa 425. |Shame, this place would have been our go to hotel for the next 4 years.

We stayed here in February 2025 while visiting colleges. I expected a luxury hotel experience for the price, but it was mediocre in several ways. No hot water in the tea urn in the lobby. No magnifying mirrors in the bathroom. Awkward room set up, no charging ports near the beds, limited channels on tv, no streaming options, etc. The courtyard is full of dead leaves. We got an executive queen with a balcony but it just looks out on a sad, empty lot. Would not recommend for the rates they charge.

Many things about this hotel are very nice but others are not. What's odd is that the challenges have been flagged in many reviews and the hotel has done nothing to address them. The nice things: lovely free breakfast, tasteful decor, great location, nice courtyard for drinks/food, and free parking. The drawbacks: if you are on a ground floor with the enormous floor to ceiling windows opening straight to the courtyard, the setup is pretty dire -- there is either no privacy or you have no natural light during the day; it is loud till around 11ish; and the curtains provided do not block out the courtyard lights that are on all night long. Given this, even though our son just started at CMC, we will not be returning to this hotel.

Visited our son at Pomona college. This boutique hotel is ideally located in the village. Spacious rooms; open plan bath tub and wash basin area - not ideal but can work with them. Huge glazing overlooking the open lounge area - the lack of privacy was a little disconcerting but the blinds and curtains helped.|Hospitality - excellent. The staff at the reception; housekeeping and in the cafe were outstanding - warm, caring and super efficient. A special thank you to the chef who took such good care of my dietary needs - you made our stay special. Thank you so much.

We enjoyed our stay over the Labor Day weekend. The location, service and the room are all great. We enjoyed playing the shuffle board with kids in the courtyard, too! Definitely would like to come back again!
