The most perfect location with mission bay and the ocean being within just a couple minute walk where you can just chill on the beach, paddle board, surf, or boogie board. There are also many restaurants and shops very close by that are very cute to walk through. Overall, the place has such a cute beachy vibe and I would highly recommend!

This seemed like a great location, but once we were in our room we did not feel safe staying here. Our room did not have any locks on the doors besides the keypad lock to get in the room. There was no interior chain or latch or deadbolt to secure the door from the inside. This was the case with both our door that went to the main living room area and the outside "private entrance". The private entrance exterior door felt especially flimsy for an exterior door.|While trying to rest just after arriving in our room we realized how easy it was to hear conversations in the main living/lobby area. Another guest arrived and was talking with staff on speaker phone trying to figure out how to get into her room and we overheard that her door code was the same as our door code. That was the last thing we needed to hear before deciding to leave as it became clear that our personal safety was not very important to the owner.|Parking wasn't easy either. We arrived on a weekend afternoon and had trouble finding a place to park. But needed to park temporarily to get a parking pass for the area. Needing to do that was not too clear when we arrived.|Cleanliness was also concerning. When we go to the room there was a large ball of hair in the first of two closets. It looked like someone had cleaned out their hairbrush and left the hair on the floor. It was a surprise that the cleaning crew did not see it.||For the $350 we were charged for this room we were very disappointed.||I understand that it is an older house; but how easy it was to conversations from the lobby, that were at a normal volume, was very disappointing. We felt we needed to whisper in our own room just so someone sitting in the lobby drinking a coffee wouldn't be able to hear us.||After an hour we realized did not feel safe staying there and chose to leave.|We were not offered a refund.

Sharon made our experience at The Boardwalk Beach House so memorable and relaxing. She was easy to communicate with and was very friendly. Plus, she was accommodating with the breakfasts (which were really tasty)!

The location is really great if you're looking for a place in walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and the boardwalk. Our room was also really cozy and clean.

I highly recommend a stay here!

Awesome location, cool Victorian with a lot of history. Would definitely return! You can walk back and forth to the beach and the wharf. No need to worry about parking as Sharon had parking passes. The Victorian had big rooms and you could feel the history.

Sharon was really accommodating - I enjoyed her meals, everything was creative and made with love. We had so much fun in Santa Cruz, we never even had to get in our car. Moreover, our time in Santa Cruz was an absolute blast.

Killer location to enjoy everything. Definitely recommend! I was traveling solo so it was nice to be able to connect with the proprietor over a glass of wine on the front deck. Thanks Sharon! I'll be back later this summer with my daughter!

Awful experience, don’t believe the photos or reviews on here. We booked this for two nights because we had a wedding nearby and it seemed like a more quaint, somewhat affordable option. We paid $350/night for a place that should be $100, if that. My thought process was I’d rather spend $350 at a cute B&B than a holiday inn, so decided to take a chance on this place even though it had limited pictures and reviews. We weren’t going to arrive until after 10pm so emailed and called multiple times to confirm that this would be ok and no one responded. When we arrived it looked like a run down old dirty house. There was a small homeless encampment outside and it was generally a dirty part of town. We were too tired to leave and go somewhere else and didn’t really feel like spending another several hundred dollars on a new hotel. The room and the bathroom looked NOTHING like the cute photos posted on here. The room was very bare and basic with old cheap furniture and curtain rods that fell down if you tried to adjust the curtains. There was hair all over the bathroom floor. There was no soap to wash your hands at the sink. The walls were so thin you could literally hear the people next to us all night and morning as they walked up and down the stairs. The only redeeming factor was the sheets and towels seemed to be clean and the bed was decently comfortable. On day 2 we went out to check out the town and when we got back there was absolutely no parking and we drove around for a long time. That area is a disaster and so busy because of its proximity to the pier, and there is no where to park. The b&b said they had two parking passes that other people were using that they said we could have when they left, but when we tried to call them to get one they never answered. My boyfriend and I ended up having to take turns sitting in the car while the other one got ready for the wedding because we couldn’t find a place to park. We ultimately decided to drive 6 hours home after the wedding instead of spending another night in that awful place so wasted $350. BEWARE of the reviews AND DONT STAY HERE unless you reset your expectations!!!
