It's literally the best location in SD! Service was fantastic and always friendly. We got a king ocean front room and all I can say is wow! Waking up to that for 3 mornings and seeing those amazing sunsets was worth every penny.
The room was clean but a bit small. The bed was extremely comfortable and loved having two types of pillows for each of us.
Don't expect a big fancy room, you are paying for the location and the view. The pictures on booking are very accurate.
The pool was clean, wish the hot tub was warmer, but was also clean. Only suggestion for this hotel is to step up the pool bar selection. Not sure if that's a license thing or just economics, but it needs a better drink selection.
Overall a great stay and look forward to our next visit.
Will return next year!

We loved our stay- the location and staff were amazing. Traveling with our special-needs daughter is always difficult, but the hotel staff really went out of their way to help us out. Stephanie, at the front desk, really went out of her way to help us get the best possible stay for our daughter, and the maintenance guys helped us with some WD-40 for the wheelchair when we needed that. It was quiet, comfortable, and really fun!
The pool and Hot tub were great, and you couldn’t beat the view of the ocean. Overall, just outstanding! We’re looking forward to staying here again the next time we’re in San Diego.

This was our first trip to San Diego. We wanted a beachfront hotel and The Wayfarer delivered! We had a oceanside suite and the views were outstanding. Being able to hear the ocean every morning was so relaxing. The room was great for our family's stay - ample room for us to move around and have some privacy when needed. The Zephyr Cafe has good eats and coffee. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance as well.

Long over due review! Stayed here a couple months ago and it was a great experience. Got there earlier than originally planned and asked if we could do an early check in which they did. The staff was so accommodating and kind. Perfect location right on the beach and clean, comfortable rooms! I would definitely recommend staying here.

I would advise not to eat at the cafe connected to the hotel, however. It was way overpriced for nasty microwaveable food.

My husband and I stayed here for our Valentines Day weekend! It was sooo much fun and so beautiful!!! 🤩 The hotel is right on the beach and there’s a lot of fun restaurants/bars to check out! The room was clean, peaceful and really pretty decor in the rooms as well as the lobby. The bed was super comfy! Also, there’s a nice mini cafe in the lobby for morning breakfast, lunch or coffee. We really enjoyed our stay here, along with the affordability. If I’m ever back in San Diego, I’d definitely stay again!

Nice oceanfront hotel on pacific beach. Great views. Clean, comfortable rooms. Plenty of nearby restaurants and activities. Heated pool and spa overlooking the ocean. Just steps from the sand and right on the boardwalk. Garage parking is $40 a night but keeps your car safe.

I had the perfect room. Room 313. I was by myself for a few days. I needed to get away from the Midwest below-zero freezing temperatures of 2025.||The view from the deck was incredible and perfect!|The staff were perfect. Very responsive and helpful!|The breakfast choices hit the spot!|The fridge in the room was big enough, not small like some.|The shower was perfect for me. You can adjust the shower head.|The pool and hot tub were perfect.|The amenities were perfect: bikes to rent, umbrellas, etc.|The laundry machines worked!|The ice machine worked!|Great restaurants close by.|Two blocks to a grocery store.|It was sunny every day I was there and perfect walking weather.||Just everything for me was perfect. I'm heading back, that's for sure!|I score this place 1,000 out of 10!||-Bill

We've stayed here many times and once again enjoyed our stay. We did have a few issues. Room needed updated, carpet was worn and mirror rusted in spots. Room 261 was a lot narrower than the other oceanfront rooms we've had in the past. We didn't appreciate waking up to a crane instead of waves our first day, blocking our view until late afternoon. I understand repairs need to be made, but it would have been nice to have been informed. Pillows were very firm, making it difficult to sleep. We enjoyed the cafe before departure, and the sunset (after the crane left). Jacuzzi and pool were great.
