For a place being run by a casino, I was a little wary, but thankfully it is both smoke and pet free.

The beds are decent, comfortable, and clean. The reason they lost a star is their entrance to the second floor door has a big step up to the actual building but itโ€™s not marked and quite easy to trip over.

Also, the bathroom area, while nice, with a big jacuzzi bath and beautiful views, is separated by a simple curtain, thatโ€™s it! And the toilet area has no separate privacy, you have to use the curtain in the main bathroom entrance and hope nobody barges in! That was definitely weird for me. Could have added a simple curtain or sliding door for the toilet area.

The location is close to Kings Beach and right across the street from the free shuttle service.

All in all not a bad stay.

Overall a great experience, so I gave it 5 stars. Nice robes, towels, comfy beds, friendly staff. As a fellow business owner I would suggest three things. 1 Add sliding barndoors to the rooms instead of the curtain between the bedroom and bathroom. 2. Mark the light switches 3. Change the highend steakhouse to barfood and breakfast to match the casino and music venue. Food was amazing, but expensive.

This property is so dark and claustrophobic that it was anxiety inducing. We requested a refund and both the Border House and Trip Advisor are saying itโ€™s up to the other party to authorize the refund. We did not stay there and do not recommend it. Location is terrible and we are now going to start the dispute process with our credit card company.

This is a hidden gem if you want to be close to Kings beach and pay a reasonable price for a good room. Beds are super comfortable and bathrooms are spacious and have jacuzzi. Didnโ€™t find the ice machine on the premises thus one star off. Stayed twice and will stay again.

We really loved our room. The king size bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a fireplace for the cooler nights. The bathroom was very large with plush towels, large soaker tub, walk-in shower and 2 sinks. There was also a mini fridge and a keurig machine for coffee/tea. We loved that the hotel is a separate building from the casino. You do need to check-in & out at the casino though. We would definitely stay here again.

A very nice hotel right at the border between states. We were in room #6 and it is a very big room, with a very spacious restroom. It lacks light, and the room is too dark though.
To check in, one must go into the casino, and they provide the keys to get to the Border House and the room. Kids are not welcome in casinos, so if you have to check in with a kid, you'll notice that some of the security folks don't stop looking at you in a not-very-friendly way.
The hotel is a building with rooms, but nothing more than this. There is no bar or restaurant or lounge to hang out.
There are plenty of dining options nearby, but it requires you to drive there - almost no options at a walking distance

We had the double room with the balcony. Huge room. Very nice toiletries and amenities in the room. Fabulous tub! Downside - no door for the toilet/bathroom though there is a heavy curtain to separate and a fan to turn on to camouflage noise. Couldn't really have two using the space if one was taking care of business, unless you're really comfortable with each other or don't care. Not sure if other rooms are the same. Windows right look out to (and in from) the street for this room. Recommend a room on the second floor. And closing curtains while dressing or showering. Casino has a great steakhouse but make reservations ahead as there is limited seating.

Great concept poor execution. We stayed at the Border House room 11, suite on the third floor. The room was very dark and there were lights out. It needs finishing touches with some updates to make this room worth what they are asking for it.

PROS: Quiet room, large space, outside garden area, clean comfy bed, large TV, working fireplace, large tile bathroom with steam shower, robes provided, a lot of little amenities, mini fridge with water, keurig coffee, free parking and staff were helpful.

CONS: Hall light was not working, whole place was very dark, shade on window broken, shower door handle coming off, steam controls falling off wall, shower temp adjustment missing handle, toilet handle broken, handles missing on drawers, no phone in the room, TV in bathroom doesn't work, coffee machine was dirty, towels were rough, everything was out dated including the bathroom, carpet and furniture. Check in was inconvenient, you had to go to the casino floor to do so.

Only reason I gave it three stars is that we got a discount booking on Travelocity vs the full price, but still feel for what we paid it was over priced.
