Great experience on a lively beautiful stretch of river filled with challenging rapids. The north fork of the American River. The weather was great. The scenery spectacular. Extra bonus with poppies out and prolific along the canyon walls. The company was outstanding and strong on safety. Skilled and professional at every level. Their prices were lower than their competitors, and their guides had many more years of experience. I rode in the owner of the company’s boat. Amazing man who had run and guided rivers internationally since childhood. Over 45 years! The history and education imparted on my daughter and I was impressive. This was my second trip with this company. I had gone with them on the Truckee River in 2018 during a convention in Reno. They were perfect for our company’s needs as well, and do great with young children. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience at IRIE. We had a group of 10, and for most of us, this was our first time rafting. Indeed, this is good for a beginners. Most of it was very lazy river, but by the end, we had had a good amount of exhilarating sections. We were left yearning for more intense rafting experiences! Our guide was Quinn, who was super competent. The price was fair, given the duration of the trip and amount of support that we had.
You will get soaked, you will sit in the sun for a long time. Plan accordingly!

Great summer activity even for folks without experience with swimming or rafting (though being fit to row paddles would help).

This stretch of the Truckee River is more down stream, and has more bumps and rapids. It’s more fun. Tigra is an awesome guide.

I took a rafting trip with Captain Matt today and wow!! By far one of the most fun things I've done in Tahoe and I've lived here for 12 years. He was very informative with safety and rowing directions before we officially were on the water that I felt safe the whole time! My buddy fell out at one spot and it seriously was the highlight of the trip! Absolutely a must do in the area

Amazing time on the Truckee river with IRIE Rafting! Easy to make the reservation for my group of six. From a safety standpoint, all gear was in excellent condition and guides offered pre-rafting instruction regarding safety and what to do... just in case. Our guide was both personable and professional and helped make the experience a ton of wet fun.

My wife & I rafted with Capt Mathew. We/I had a great time but my wife fell out at one of the first rapids. Mathew got her back into the raft very fast. The amazing thing is after she caught her breath and resumed her position in the raft, she followed all commands through the end of the trip but doesn't remember most of the trip. She didn't hit her head (CAT scan) confirmed, but the shock of falling in, removed any memory of the trip after she hit the water. We are thankful for Capt. Mathew for his actions. We recommend using IRIE for rafting on the Truckee river, but certainly heed all safety instructions. It would have been nice if there was a photographer along the way to capture some pictures of the excitement. The trip was the final event we had in the Tahoe area the last week of June.
