Admittedly, I have been spoiled when it comes to impressive hotels.I lived in San Francisco for many years
My father flew to San Francisco every month for a Board Meeting, - he stayed at the Clift.
Once, ( I was 10) we checked into the Fairmont and they gave us the Bridal Suite.
I also stayed at the St Francis, Mark Hopkins, the SF Hilton a number if times - coordinating conventions.
There were international conventions - hence, hotels in London,Vienna, Paris, Monte Carlo with 500 Avon Ladies, NYC, Hawaii….Munich,…
However, I have to say , Staying at the fabulous The Inn Above Tide in Sausalito was one of the very finest hotels ever. Understated elegance and amazing attention details. ..
The room was simply lovely - our patio faced The City and the Bay Bridge. Wonderful!!
Treats appeared at our door…the linens were very fine…Bathroom was perfectly appointed.There was a lovely assortment of treats - beyond compare - high-end sweets ( sea salt caramels, etc etc etc)
Also, impressive Wine tasting and treats in the Lobby Room - fabulous breakfast served there, too.

The ( valet, maid, Front Desk) Staff was top flight.

Our favorite hotel....anywhere. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing with a great breakfast and wine & appetizer service included, brought to your room to enjoy on your balcony handing out over the bay with dolphins, seals and gulls playing within arm's reach. Ohhh and the sunrises, or sunsets, or SF views are spectacular. One or 2 nights equals a week of relaxing anywhere else. Which is good, cause expensive.

Gorgeous views; impeccable service; absolutely lovely/couldn't have been nicer. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and a split of champagne greeted us upon arrival. We asked for Happy Hour wine and cheese plate to be delivered to our room (no extra charge for this) and, of course, they asked if we preferred red or white. We asked for one of each, expecting a glassof each. Rather, we got a bottle of each and were told to drink as much as we wanted and take the rest home. Just a sweet and generous touch.

What a treat to find this glorious spot right here in the Bay Area! So worried about safety and quality of care - certainly not a concern at this spot. Located right at the center of sausalito, what a great find. Absolutely loved the room and staff, but then there was food and wines that were over the top. ||We needed a getaway - yet we were in the middle of a great evening. I can’t encourage this enough for those who don’t care to drive for hours. We had rain, but who cared? The views and warmth of this locale just made it, along with the caring staff. So professional, warm and efficient.||Hurry…I understand it sells out quickly by knowledgeable foreign travelers who return year in and year out!

This hotel is the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in! There was everything thought of to give the guests an exceptional, Luxurious stay. The deck overlooking the water is out of this world tranquil, beautiful and you can sit there while eating the amazing breakfast and watch seals swimming right outside the deck.|Everything about it was a 10/10. The staff were also excellent.

Absolutely first class hotel. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. The deck was fabulous with amazing views across to Alcatraz. We were lucky enough to have great weather so we had breakfast outside in the morning as well as cheese and wine late afternoon. Staff were very welcoming and always available to help. Valet parking is so convenient. Location is excellent, just a short walk to restaurants, shop and the ferry. Worth every penny! We will definitely be back!
