It is a beautiful place to rest after a lovely hike. Hummingbirds zoom around, and Carl the fog most of the time covers like a blanket the view down below. Never stayed in or dined here, though a snack bar is available to get some snacks for the road.

We hiked in from Lake Lagunitas, up the creek trail with packs and it was challenging even for the teens. One person drove the food prep and spirit supplies for that night and the next morning.

The community kitchen was fully stocked with cooking accessories and kitchenware amenities and some leftover spices left by previous guests. The big wrap-around patio offered absolutely gorgeous views of the SF Bay Area and the vibrant colored feeders attracted hundreds of hummingbirds.

The hostile is old and the bedrooms are very small so keep your expectations low... remember to bring sleeping bags or you can rent fresh linen for a small fee.

The volunteer caretaker was a sweetheart and shared West Point Inn stories from a historical perspective. From the hostile, we walked out to John Muir beach mostly downhill, about eight miles and then spent some fun in the sun!

We had a great time and will be back.

West Point Inn has a very rustic and welcoming feel. The Innkeepers are awesome! Especially Gordon, Jim, Pat, Bob, Janice and David. Always there to help you with vast amounts of really useful information. They are all very familiar with the numerous trails that stretch out all over Mount Tamalpais, they can make great recommendations for loop hikes, long hikes, short hikes and everything in-between. The Inn does not have heating, so if you're staying overnight bring a sleeping bag. There is an incredibly well stocked kitchen where you can prepare meals, make coffee/tea, etc;
The outside deck is a fantastic spot to have lunch while taking in the beautiful panoramic views. West Point Inn is a local gem 💎 👌
I highly recommend this business

This review is mainly for the pancake breakfast, though I have stayed here before and liked it too. It's about an hour hike up from the Bootjack parking lot at a leisurely pace. Generally it's a pretty easy walk up the fire trail (called Old Stage Road), unless you take one of the trails which I have yet to do. Once you get to the top, you are treated by a wonderful view and you're above the fog. The pancake breakfast is really wonderful. There is a long wait but you can pass the time fast talking to friends or to others or simply just enjoying being in such a beautiful place. The staff have a good operation going and we didn't have to wait long for the food. You can squeeze into a table with other people. There are no reserve seats as far as I know.

it in is absolutely stunning. It’s so well-maintained by a group of volunteers every single day. It has five rooms in the actual inn and five cabins scattered around. You get amazing, beautiful views of the bay and mountain while staying at this inn. The service here is amazing with self-serve almost everything they do have amazing, pancake breakfast sometimes.

There is no restaurant that serves breakfast. NO PANCAKES. Hike with my kids and wife and we got nothing.

Very comfortable and with a stunning view. You have to complete an easy hike or bike ride to the inn, but it's well worth the (minimal) effort. The cost is reasonable, but the linen rental is too expensive. Expect to contribute to communal chores.

We did the hike by mountain theater to get up and back, it took us about 1 hour each way. It is a little steep in places but very manageable. We went to the monthly summer pancake breakfast, it was great and we were served within minutes of ordering. There is a bathroom and the view is stunning
