Lovely old hotel. Room was nice and quiet. Bed was solid (which is great when your partner moves a lot when sleeping). Close to several food options. Parking is not very close. And you have to use stairs to get to the lobby and rooms, no elevator. Service was good.

It feels like they don’t want me to stay here-Parking is very inconvenient. Just to check in and unload our bags we had to illegally park. As is mentioned in other reviews having to climb multiple staircases is inconvenient. The parking lot is pretty far away. It’s crazy that they haven’t solved some of these issues.
The room is very quaint and boutique, so if you can make it through all of the obstacles of getting to the room, you’ll be pleased

The hotel does have a sense of old world charm. The hotel does not have an elevator, and a customer must climb 2 flights of steps to even get to the check-in desk, not to mention carrying your suitcase up those same stairs, while tryning to hold on to your luggage, not fall backwards, and punch in a code to get into the hotel. The rooms are tiny, on the verge of claustrophobic. The parking is about 1/3 mile away from the hotel. The bathroom floor and tub are very slippery with no mats.

OK, I only made it (barely) up the steep set of stairs to the Lobby. I never did see a room. I cancelled. There was no way I could get myself AND a suitcase up those stairs at my age. I was listening to the clerk describe parking to another patron and that alone would have made me walk away. Might be a nice room and good location, but if you are challenged to walk steps, stay far away.

I was extremely disappointed when I found out that a hotel that advertised that they were handicapped accessible had me climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the check in desk and my room. I have a partially amputated foot and booked this hotel room because I was having surgery on this foot the following morning at a local hospital. My husband and I did not leave the hotel for dinner because I could not walk up and down the stairs again because it caused extreme pain. Also parking for this hotel is a block away from the hotel.

Great time. Nice room. The service was great. Parking is a little crazy but we have an HC placard and were able to park in a parking garage behind the Hotel. They give you a discount on Parking at a lot that's a little ways away. We were lucky to get to park closer. There's a back entrance off the alley but beware it was built in 1924 and the 2 flights of stairs are a bit daunting at first because you're not expecting them. They really were fine. There's a keypad at the top of the stairs to get in and it was close to our room. A great place to stay if you're going to a Concert at the Greek.

I really want to give 5 stars, but there are a couple things that create the 4 stars. The main problem was the smell of rotten eggs in the water. It was stronger when the water first turned on, so I would run the water for a bit before brushing teeth or washing up. Unfortunately, it still smelled like it even after letting the water run for a bit.

The second core issue was the fact the "1st floor" is actually up steep stairs, equivalent to about 2 flights of stairs. There is no elevator or any assistance to get luggage up the stairs. As a historical building, I understand it's close to impossible to add something like an elevator, but maybe adding an option for help getting stuff up the stairs would be a benefit. As a severe asthmatic, dragging luggage up the stairs was very difficult.

Now, outside of those issues, I enjoyed the building. The address includes a 1/2 in it and the door from the street is relatively non-descript so it felt a little like a hidden home in Harry Potter. Plus, the building is old and the decor is themed to match a regal time.

For cleanliness- this place was very clean. It doesn't seem that way on the carpet in the room because the carpet looks like it is dated to match the period (which seems unlikely since it's in such a good condition). I was wearing white socks and roaming around the room. My socks stayed white! There were some stains or possibly repaired parts that left a weird mark. That's the way it goes with specialty carpet.

The bed was very comfortable. Some people complained about the smell of the pillows. I actually brought my own pillow because I wasn't sure if I would have an issue with potential allergies. You get to control the temperature, and the air conditioner worked great.

The price was amazing for a holiday weekend, and it was close to the Alex Theatre where I was attending an event. It is within walking distance of the Alex Theatre (real walking distance, about a block and a half). Very convenient!

We recently stayed here for a week. The location is very convenient. It’s very clean and comfortable. Considering the quality and cost, it deserves an excellent rating. Very helpful staff. Special thanks to Yelena for her high professionalism and care for clients. Highly recommend!
