I would highly recommend the hotel to friends, family, co-workers, and more. The hotel has a family-friendly rooftop and a swimming pool with open views of DTLA.

The service of the hotel was good, so I would say positive things about Freehand Hotel Los Angeles. 😊 The location of the hotel is near so many businesses and the people who worked for the hotel were pleasantly business-friendly, so I would consider it a good place to stay for a business trip. I am already looking forward to be back at Freehand Los Angeles, so stay tuned. šŸ˜‡

Beautiful place.|It’s a large building divided into a hotel, hostel, and bar.|The rooms are well-maintained with excellent amenities, and the beds are very comfortable. However, the bunk bed ladder is extremely noisy—it wakes everyone up every time someone uses it.|The rooftop is truly stunning, offering a nighttime view of the city lights.|The location is incredibly convenient. Below the hostel, there’s a food market with a wide variety of options, both pre-packaged and freshly made, and there’s also a metro stop that allows you to reach any destination without transfers.|Excellent accommodation—I would definitely recommend it.

Cool concept hotel. Retro vibe of the hotel that attracts people travel for pleasure and business travelers. The location is great, and it is near DTLA, and you can walk to major places in downtown LA. The retro vibe is cool with the lobby lounge that you can hang out, but the room furniture's and bed felt very old and squeaks, and the mattress was sunken. I understand the design elements should look like "collected" pieces over the years, but they look cheap and not properly made. The bed frame was way bigger than the bed, and It was on its way, so I got a number of bruises. So if you are staying here, be careful. Hotel is affordable compared to other hotels. The entire hotel is generally dark, I had a hard time putting makeup on to trying to find the right light source. It would ve great if the room had the brighter lights. The hotel was quiet, considering it is located downtown.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the location is excellent — right next to the metro, which made it easy to access multiple lines and travel anywhere in the city. There’s also a small supermarket conveniently located just across the street, which was really handy.||Being downtown, it can get a bit loud at night, but as a good sleeper, it didn’t bother me much. ||However, the payment process was a littl bid confusing. At check-in, we were told the total was $180 for city tax, but on check-out, we were informed of an outstanding $13 for the city tourist tax, which wasn’t charged correctly. It felt poorly communicated and inconvenient.||Additionally, the hotel charged a $150 deposit but didn’t allow us to charge bar purchases or other extras to the room. Instead, they required payment by card or cash for roof top bar expenses, which defeated the purpose of the deposit.||Overall, it’s a nice hotel with some great features.

Other than parking being nonexistent this place has a cool office with luxurious, and hostile vibe rolled into a fatty and smoked outside because there is a no smoking policy in the rooms. Which is just fine by me because when u reserve a hotel room you want just that and not a cigar lounge with a bed which I've stayed at places like that and felt like that was a punishment from the hotel universe making a point to follow policies. In any event the prices are more than reasonable for a excellent room, view, and in the smack dad middle of DTLA.

Our team stayed here during a tournament at the LA Convention Center. We really appreciated The Freehand's location - a short walk to the venue and close to restaurants and Whole Foods - and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms worked well for our group. I would recommend staying on the skyline view side as the city view was a bit noisy at night. Some parts of the neighborhood are a bit run down, but we still found lots of great places to eat at and visit nearby.

This is a nice hostel it’s NOT a hotel.
Open mic nights and other social events are held in the lobby lounge which is cool.
Low stars for Rude and snobby staff.
The cafe and pool have inconvenient hours. You can’t even go to the pool until noon!
Expensive food and drinks. They try to trick you with a 4% fee on checks to ā€œhelp pay for healthcareā€ which you have to specifically say you want waived.
Nice pool deck though
