We had such a lovely time during our stay at the Cliff Crest Bed and Breakfast. It captures all the quaint charm and warmth you could hope for when reserving a B&B. The owner and host, Adriana, was wonderfully accommodating, hospitable, and just a bright presence all around. Our room, The Empire Room, was comfortable and a joy to come back to after our days out and about. We also appreciated the fresh breakfasts and the optimal location, which was an easy walk to the beach. If you’re seeking a unique stay in Santa Cruz where you feel welcomed, this is absolutely it.

We stayed downstairs in the room with a bay window. There is a lot of furniture in the room and the bathroom is tiny. The hostess was more than accommodating and would make pretty much whatever we wanted for breakfast. We were there 3 days and had eggs any way we wanted and french toast. There was always fruit available. The house is historic and very interesting. It was close to whatever we wanted to do -- two blocks to the waterfront where there are rides and games and junk food. We especially appreciated having free parking in the back.

I stayed here with my fiancé on a short trip to Santa Cruz this past weekend. Adriana and Constantin were very accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. Adriana is a wonderful artist, and you can see her paintings and even a beautiful sculpture throughout the property. The house is in a great location close to the boardwalk, but still in an extremely quiet neighborhood.

We had private off-street parking. Our room had its own private bathroom and plenty of blankets and pillows. The space was clean and the vibe was cheery. We felt welcomed and at home in the space.

Adriana and Constantin were hosting a special celebration and invited us, but unfortunately we had to head back to Los Angeles.

Would highly recommend Cliff Crest Inn for anyone looking for a cozy place to stay at a very reasonable rate. 5+ stars!!

Adriana and Constantin were such gracious, friendly, and wonderful hosts. I stayed there with my fiancé this last weekend. On the way to Santa Cruz, our car broke down and we called to cancel and they were kind enough to offer us a rain check on our stay. We ended up making it (albeit, with a different car and many hours later than we originally anticipated) and Adriana stayed up until almost 11pm to get us checked in and settled!

The room we stayed in (the apricot room) was well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of pillows and blankets with our own private bathroom with good water pressure and hot water I’ll add. I noticed one of the watercolor paintings in the room was signed by Adriana so the next morning when I went down for coffee and was greeted by her, I asked her about it. Turns out she’s an INCREDIBLE artist with paintings and sculptures throughout the property. It was treat to talk to her about her art!

That morning Adriana and Constantin were hosting a celebration for the Inn and were kind enough to offer us to partake in the feast. Unfortunately we had to leave that morning!

We will definitely be coming back to stay at Cliff Crest!

We stayed here for the Half Ironman Triathalon. The house is beautiful and has all necessary amenities. It is not modern, but has everything you need. The bathroom in our room was cramped, but totally fine - clearly was put into an existing closet, and cleverly so. The home is situated perfectly - near the beach and boardwalk, but far enough away that you don't get the party crowd noise. The hosts were lovely, and accommodating. We needed scissors, we got scissors. We explained that my husband would be up and out early and had brought his own pre-triathalon food, including bread for toast - could we use a toaster in the morning? Yes, of course, just come in the kitchen and help yourself. But even better, when we woke up in the morning we found a note outside our door - they had thought up all the things that might be useful for breakfast on the go - mandarins, boiled eggs, bananas, hot water, etc. and left a spread on one of the tables for us. Really thoughtful and accommodating. My breakfast was simple but delicious, with great coffee. Also, off street parking in Santa Cruz - nearly unheard of and worth a LOT. This is not the luxury B&B experience (which is the only reason it is 4 instead of 5 on the review), but it is a warm, welcoming, clean, accommodating place and I'd stay there again no doubt.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Inn for two nights and we had a wonderful experience. The Cliff Crest Inn is a short walk away from both the Santa Cruz boardwalk and downtown so I never had to move my car once I parked. Beatriz and Adriana are delightful and made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. The breakfast was great as we had coffee, scrambled eggs, and croissants both mornings. It is a very quiet place to come back to after a long day as all the guests are respectful of one another's privacy. This was my first experience at a bed and breakfast, and I would suggest it to anyone looking to stay here when visiting Santa Cruz.

The hosts and hostesses are very kind and nice people. I am a seasoned traveler and plan on opening our own bed and breakfast in the state of Maryland. I always find it educational to visit other bed and breakfasts to see what works and what doesn't. Here's my honest evaluation of what worked and what crashed and burned.||Pros....., the location, the bed that I slept in on the second floor, the off Street free parking, the peace and quiet.( I stayed off season)and the price I paid ($99 per night).. the fresh Persimmons I was offered in the morning for breakfast... the owners did not require me to check out early on my last day rather letting me stay and use the room until I left at 5. This was a welcoming extra! They teach tango/ dance lessons during the day which was nice . (music in the house and things going on)||Cons.....the breakfast in the morning needed some meat included with it. Also when you are staying at a B&B you expect a certain level of service and quality with food. presentation is everything! Dishes should match, linen should be crisp and clean and there shouldn't be piles of paintings and dust and mismatched knick knacks everywhere. My bedroom was extremely crowded with furniture that really did not need to be in there. Light bulbs were burned out Etc. The towels were frayed and ragged and my bathroom had a half-used bottle of shampoo. Nothing else..||I noticed that the price has gone up for this establishment. For $195 per night I would find another place in Live Oak to stay and walk down to the beach to get your own breakfast. If you are in need of staying close to the boardwalk due to parking or traveling with children this isn't a bad location however..

I will start by saying we will definitely go back when in S.C. Adriana met us as soon as we arrived. She helped us with our bags and got us checked in. She showed us our room and made sure we were happy. Adriana went on to explain some of the history of the house and the area.

Later we met Constantin and he gave us suggestions on where to go for food and entertainment.

We returned to our room later that night. Our room had been turned down, curtains closed and prepped for us.

In the morning we woke to a great home cooked breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs, french toast, coffee and orange juice. Adriana made sure we had enough food. We ate breakfast while looking out into the yard shaded by redwood trees.

This is truly a unique experience. You won't find service like this even at those expensive hotels. The house is a historic landmark, so don't expect luxury. We felt welcomed and we're treated like family, not just guests. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and have tons of history in them. They are filled with antiques and Adriana's artwork. The beds were comfortable. If you are tired of being dissapointed by over priced hotels then try something different. You won't be disappointed.
