My wife and were on our way home towards bay area and decided to stop and stay the night in clearlake. We found this place which is nicely located on the lake. Front desk was very kind and we ended up staying in the suite facing the water for a reasonable price. The suite is wonderfully spacious and kept nice and clean. For the price, hospitality, and service I'll rate 5/5

It's an older place but the rooms are updated and clean. Front desk was very friendly. Seems like a lot of people actually live there but were no problem. Parking is a little on the tight side but it's 50 yards from the lake. I'd stay again

Last place we could get a room at but at a good price. AC worked well and that's what saved us during the heat wave but place could be a lot better w more detail to inside and outside attention.
Able to sleep so that's what mattered most to me.

I was looking at booking here for a quick visit to family. I decided not book for two reasons: one, I was reading their terms of service and apparently in addition to the night pet fees, they also charge a $2500.00 pet deposit up front. Like.... You're a 2-star motel, my pets could destroy the room entirely and it wouldn't cost $2500 to start from scratch. And second, when I called the motel to ask if that was a typo, the gentleman kind of snickered and said, "yeah, wow," like it's the first time he's ever heard of it. I asked if many people have an issue with paying the power deposit and he replied that people do it all the time. I noted the fact that he admitted this was the first time he's heard of the deposit, but claimed to accept these all the time. Then he hung up on me.

Bad policy. Bad service. Bad news.

This hotels bad reviews are not in any way true. The staff are incredibly nice respectful and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our balcony. We stayed 5 days for the Fourth of July festival and had a amazing time. The whole town is full friendly people. We will definitely be coming back to visit this little town and most definitely be coming back to stay at this hotel during our next visit.

I have stayed here twice in the last year for a few days each time. My room was clean and freshly painted . The place was quiet and safe. It's no frills but it's was 112 per night. Good place too stay.

From the photos online, the hotel looked a little dated, but since we were just using it for a place to sleep, I figured it would make due. The rates were the cheapest I could find in the area so that was a huge plus. I grew up in this area and never had a need to visit the hotel so I really didn't know what it was like. At check in, I was greeted by, I assume, the owner. He was nice and check-in was pretty quick. We had a friend drop us off, and I don't think he believed me when I said there were only two staying in the room, but we weren't charged extra. When we got into the room, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was updated compared to the online photos. After shutting the door, the horrors began. The front, white door was covered in I don't know what. Black smears up and down with a huge dent the size of a fist in it. The lime green accent wall was smeared and speckled with dark stuff. The smoke detector above the vanity looked like it had been ripped off the wall, with exposed wires and the back to hold it. There was what looked like poop on the in the corner as well. When I opened the bathroom, I gasped. There was a huge black mold spot on the ceiling above the toilet, the toiletries looked like they had just been thrown on the back of the toilet and sink counter. The shower curtain, bathroom floor, door frame all were dirty and looked like they had never been cleaned. There was another hole on the front of the bathroom door that looked like another fist hole. None of the towels in the room looked like they had been put in nicely, and just lazily set down. The throw pillows on both needs both had stains on them, one of them looking really shady. The TV was huge and looked new, but had something on it that had dripped down and dried. I was honestly afraid to touch anything. Surprisingly enough, after inspecting the beds and sheets, they were clean. With it being as late as it was and us not having a way to go anywhere else, we stayed for one of our two booked nights. We couldn't handle a second and thankfully got a refund for the second night. I've been in and worked in some shady hotels, but this hotel has to be the worst. The housekeeping just really seems to not care? The floors and bedding were clean and the room didn't smell bad, but the glaring issues with the stains and stuff on the walls, the towels, the carelessness of the soaps just being thrown down show that they don't care. The smoke detector missing was also a huge worry and I'm pretty sure illegal. I would have asked for s refund for our first night as well, but we used the room. We didn't have much of a choice, but we still paid. I would not recommend this hotel unless they seriously reevaluate their housekeeping and maintenance. If this were a corporate chain hotel, they'd be shut down. Fortunately for them they're in a small town with minimal options.
