Only hotel in the area, but it’s a good one. Typical Hampton Inn, good service, nice location, good rooms and comfy beds. I however didn’t like the pillows. This hotel has a restaurant, a really nice gift shop and a nice outside sitting area and a nice fire inside. Breakfast was delicious and you have plenty of options on what you can eat. Eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, croissants, bagels, yogurt. Not far from monument valley and only a couple of hours from the canyon

We stayed one night at the Hampton Inn between our Monument Valley visit. It is a long drive and that was the main reason for us to stay here. There are not a lot of options to stay between Monument Valley and, say, Flagstaff, and so the Hampton Inn in Kayenta was our best option. ||We did not experience unfriendly staff, as other people remarked. But as others pointed out, we also felt wary because of the parking permit that was to be left in the car. There is an outside seating area that was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was better than the standard and the lovely hard-working Navajo man in charge was incredibly attentive and helpful. The fruit was especially nice. ||The room was clean and we liked the decorations everywhere. There was a refrigerator in the room and a microwave near reception for everyone’s use. There is an integrated shop and restaurant where Native American art and cuisine can be experienced.||But at the same time, we think it is a little overpriced. No regrets, but the price did sting a bit. Due to a lack of competition and high demand of tourists in the location, the Hampton Inn Kayenta can ask for higher prices than the actual value would be elsewhere. But since Monument Valley was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, we decided to pay for safety and comfort of the location (and our car’s security) rather than driving all the way to Northern AZ in one day. Oh and The View seems to be a bit of a worse offender with respect to our version of price/value.

The staff welcomed us before our arrival. The rooms were clean, the little restaurant was the perfect place to have dinner and breakfast. You Must try their Navaho Fry Bread with honey… OMG! Warm with honey? Lord a mercy. We also had the chicken-fried chicken with mashed potatoes and delicious veggies. They have a wonderful gift store with books and such. The best part was the cultural awareness of the hotel. The hotel and the Burger King next door sponsor a little monument to the Codetalkers and Navajo tribal customs. It was dog-friendly with a fee. The downsides were the following: They warned us to remove belongings from our vehicle because there have been thefts and vandalism in the parking lot. Another annoyance are Hilton’s surcharges for high speed internet, even if you are a Hilton Honors member. Another modern gotcha’. One final downside was the spotty cell service for Verizon (and its bargain network, Visible). Overall, I felt like this was a special place to stay. Honoring Native American culture is important. Hampton Inn/Hilton, pay special attention to keeping this place special.

This is a nice hotel. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This hotel is the only non motel lodging in Kayenta. I drove into here, checked into my room, and was satisfied to find that it was clean and had two comfortable queen beds. The breakfast here was good too. I gave this hotel five stars because of its convenient location near Monument Valley and good breakfast toppings.

We had a wonderful stay here in Kayenta! Great proximity to Monument Valley. Comfortable and spacious room, soft and fluffy towels. The restaurant in the hotel is very good with cheerful service. There is also a gift shop that’s like a little mini trading post, with some lovely items at reasonable prices. I haven’t seen a gift shop in a hotel since I was a kid, and it’s nice to see one again. It’s open in the morning for a few hours and then again around dinner time. The area is quiet, no loud noises at night. Desk staff is very friendly.

The room was very clean, and the attention to detail in cleanliness was impressive. However, the mattress was uncomfortable, the pillows felt cheap, and there was no hand soap in the entire hotel—raising hygiene concerns.

What will keep us from returning is the lack of security. A fully booked hotel with no security guard is unacceptable. Guests are warned not to leave valuables in their cars due to frequent thefts, yet nothing is done to address it. Normalizing theft instead of protecting customers and their property is a major failure.

Christmas decorations were very warm and welcoming. The Navajo shop in the hotel lobby was very beautiful.
