Pros: Great getaway in the mountains. Lots of trails to explore and city nearby if you want to grab food. Rustic cabin was very warm and had central air. Front desk staff and restaurant were very nice. Cons: Mice droppings everywhere. On the stove, in the cupboards and everywhere else. I get this is rustic cabin but some effort could have been taken to clean this up before we arrived. Told front desk and they said they were aware. Food was not good. Son had burger and fries and I had fried mushrooms. Tasted like it was fried in old grease and we didn’t finish it either. We choose to eat out rest of the trip. Also another family was in front of our cabin when we came back one day even though everyone had their own plot. They claimed they were passing through on a trail and you can see by pictures there was no trail. Made us feel very uncomfortable. I would suggest they do walk through before guests check in and inform all guests to stay on their cabin plot.

Loved my stay at DeSoto State Lodge! Dog friendly and comfy beds. The rooms were clean and spacious and had a deck in the back overlooking a creek. I kept my back door open the majority of my stay so I could hear the gurlging of the creek outside. Fabulous atmosphere for a relaxing vacation!

We loved our stay at the lodge! Our room was clean. It had a mini fridge , microwave and coffee maker. and the restaurant was great! Saw lots of waterfalls because it rained the whole time but it was awesome! I definitely would stay here again.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon walking the trails - enjoying an autumn art festival - great ? and eats at food trucks. Viewed an interactive educational “show” in their theatre.
Everyone staffing and visiting were cordial and accommodating ?

Had a very nice room older but well kept. The office for check in was nice and easy check in. A few gifts in office to buy if interested at reasonable price. They have a pool but I did not see it, not extremely good cell reception unless outside, nice over night getaway

Really enjoyed the breakfast here. No powdered eggs, they have the real thing. Dinner, we had steak. It was very good, salad bar was awesome. Service was great. Price was fair.

Delicious food, lovely serving staff and great prices. Our family of five had three meals here during our stay and were pleased with it all. Great feel to the historic CCC lodge.
