The location is superb with fantastic views. Golf course was in excellent condition. Jacuzzi was being refurbished, and the rules in the pool area are strict.
Was given a room with two double beds, for my husband and me, which was inconvenient, and slightly weird.
Make sure you ask for a room with a balcony, otherwise you might not get one.
Havalinas are out and about so don't leave trash lying around outside your room.

While the hotel is a great remote location, has a great view, and friendly staff, there is one problem.

After the first night, we found a bed bug in the bed.
We got couple bites on our lower back, front and hands. It's very very itchy even 5 days later writing about this. It's been very uncomfortable experience and I wish no one has to experience this.

We notified the front desk when we checked out and that they may want to check the bed for them, and that we should send pictures of the bites to them and they would reach back to us.

Two days later, no response. I called the hotel again because I didn't want another guest to get eaten like I did. The front desk was not aware of the issue and said the manager will be made aware and contact us later.

It is now the next day, and nobody has reached out to us. Wasn't looking for a refund, as I just wanted to be sure nobody else experiences the pain of bites all over their body.

If you choose to stay here, then check for bed bugs.

My wife and I stayed in the Starr Pass Golf Suites while visiting our son who lives in Tucson and our daughter who came from Nashville. We spent Thanksgiving week (23rd-29th) here and very much enjoyed our stay.||First the Starr Pass Golf Suite (#67) was very nice, the view not so much as we were backed by the tennis court. However there are others with very nice views. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower hot water was very hot and plentiful.||The only downside was the registration lobby, golf pro shop and restaurant were undergoing renovations with the restaurant closed, lobby limited to check-in/out only and pro shop was very limited. Bathrooms were closed and only port-a-potty were available there.||Starr Pass Golf courses were fantastic with beautiful views and wildlife, including quail, deer, javelina, roadrunner and rabbits. The weather was absolutely perfect.||We went to Tombstone which was okay but they pretty much charge for everything. My cousin is an investor in Az Hops and Wines Winery in Sonoita and we had a great time there then went to a Steakhouse down the street that was excellent! In Tucson, we hit several restaurants with El Charro downtown being our favorite.||We visited Tubac for a little shopping and San Xavier del Bac Mission. We also did a Thanksgiving Day hike catching the Starr Pass Trailhead a short walk from our room. Really nice views!||All in all we had a wonderful time and it was a great time to visit with near perfect weather!

Had the resort booked in Scottsdale but they emailed me 7 days before our stay letting us know they are going to start renovations on the pool. This was the only reason for the stay. They didn't have anything available in Phoenix so they sent me down here. I would avoid this place at any cost. No kitchen, dishes but no way to clean them. It is a glorified hotel room that had no bar or food. Bright side, pool was nice and staff was nice. I feel bad paying owner fees for this place. Would be better off with a complete remodel or burn it and start over.

This resort is a scam. I don’t know how to say it any clearer.

||On RCI, it is listed as a Silver Crown Resort with “unparalleled amenities,” with “an award-winning BBQ restaurant onsite.” Studios and 1 Bedrooms are listed as available, with pictures of elegantly decorated rooms, furniture, and restaurant. Food, by a pool, in a restaurant, at a nice resort, all looked nice.

||We booked a 5 night stay in a Studio through RCI, with a $299 exchange fee, and disclosure that for the 5 nights stay there would be a $105 housekeeping fee and a $100 security deposit.

||A week before our arrival, we were informed by the Resort that even though we reserved a Studio, it was more like a hotel room than a Studio. Regrettably, I decided to not cancel my reservation after the Resort disclosed this misrepresentation in their RCI listing.

||Upon arrival, we were informed that many of their advertised amenities were “closed for remodeling”—including the restaurant. The Resort misrepresented this in their RCI listing, and they did not disclose the closed food/restaurant amenities when they let me know the lodging wasn’t actually a Studio. ||Additionally, upon arrival I discovered the security deposit had been misrepresented. It was $250 instead of $100. 

||However, they informed me that our room had recently been remodeled and was really nice. ||We figured that maybe we could have food delivered to the resort, and maybe we were at the end of the misrepresentations.

||We drove across the Resort to the building with our room, dropped our luggage, and went to downtown Tucson to eat.

||A couple hours later, when we returned to the room, we then recognized the extent of the scam.

||The room was less than a remodeled 40 year old motel room. The bathtub was decades old and very stained—not going to want to sit in that. ||The “remodel” was slapped together, with as poor attention to detail that even the bedside lamp shades were different colors—white and a dingy beige.

||The room had a shared door with the adjacent unit that was locked, but the insulation between the rooms, and with the door was so poor that we could hear nearly everything that was happening in the adjacent room—which meant that they would be able to hear virtually everything from us, and we would have little to no privacy.

||To top it off, there were 2”+ diameter spiders at the door. Not going to walk around barefoot in that room, nor leave our luggage on the floor.

||We contacted the front desk and told them that we were leaving and told them why. We expressed that we understood that the young women at the front desk couldn’t do anything to fix the problems and it wasn’t their fault, that we needed to be able to sleep without loud noise from the adjacent unit, that we needed privacy, and that we were leaving.

||They told us they would cancel our stay.

||For the about 3 hours that our luggage sat in the room, they charged us the $105 housekeeping fee and a single night room tax.

||We contacted RCI about the misrepresentations and they told us to contact the Resort to ask for a refund.

||We contacted the Resort to ask for a refund and they told us to talk to RCI.

||Today, 4 days later, the Resort is still misrepresented on RCI’s website.

||It is a poorly remodeled, worse than 40 year old motel room, with a stained tub, spiders at the door, and absent the amenities represented on RCI. You may not be able to sleep if the adjacent unit occupant is loud, and you will have very limited privacy yourself.||It’s a scam. Stay away.

If I could rate this place zero stars I would. I booked a casita in March 2024 for a vacation in October 2024. I called the number on my reservation a week before my trip to verify that everything was good for our upcoming stay, which the receptionist stated everything was good to go with the reservation. The next day I started getting emails letting me know my stay has been cancelled SIX DAYS prior to my arrival in Tucson. I got the emails before a phone call was made to me, and I had to wait on hold for 10 minutes until I got through to someone on the reservations line. I was told my stay was cancelled due to construction/renovations on the property. I asked how in the world did they not know the work would affect the reservations with no advanced notice (again I've had this booked since MARCH) and I was told "things change with construction". I was told there was nothing they could do to accommodate the fact they cancelled my stay less than a week that I am flying across the country. I was told there were no other rooms and nothing further they could do for me. Of course, all other hotels in the area are sold out for the football game which is why I booked so far ahead. Absolutely awful experience. Hard 0/10.

• One (1) day before we arrived, I received a long voice mail message from the property announcing an upcoming renovation of the golf clubhouse, which included closure of the restaurant and bar and other amenities. We had made this reservation through Booking.com three months earlier, and Booking charged us for the full stay in advance. When I called the property and asked why we were not notified earlier, the response was that “we only heard about this from the golf club a week ago.”
• Since we were driving down from Oregon we did not want to scramble and try to change this reservation and book another property elsewhere.
• The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom amenities disappointing (tiny container shampoo for two people for two nights? The coffee was terrible and no creamer was provided – I drove to the clubhouse to get some.
• Even though most hotels these days have you pre-pay your stay, and then also ask for a credit card to put a hold on a security deposit “for possible damages, or having a pet in your room, etc,” the first morning of our stay we had to listen to a small dog barking right next door to us.
• On several occasions wi-fi slowed down or stopped working.

Buyer beware. Horrible experience. Booked our room in April for our November stay and received a phone call upon landing at the airport on the day of our arrival that our reservation had been cancelled. I thought it was a scam. It was not. Upon arrival at the front desk they handed us a post-it with a number to call for a comparable room. The comparable room was a couple different airport hotels. No thanks. Not comparable. We were planning to stay here along with my in-laws and we were going to share a rental car. Instead, we found a room about 30 minutes north at a resort and had to get our own rental car. We pretty much quadrupled what we were going to spend on this trip. They offered no explanation or anything to make up for it. I’ve traveled quite a bit and have never had anything like this ever happen. Management needs to get things figured out. Based on other Google reviews I read after this trip, it is apparent this happens to people at this property quite a bit. If you book, it might be safer to go through Airbnb or VRBO for a unit.
