I originally booked for 2 nights because I had stayed here before. Upon checking in the front desk lady was awesome! Once we went to our room found that the bar was closed, the rooftop bar was no longer, the rooms were dirty and old. The site said it was adults only and cannabis friendly. We went back to the front and the lady explained that the hotel was purchased from someone else and that those amenities went away. I let her know I wanted to check out because that is not what the site said and she told me what I needed to do so that I can get refunded for my stay. I did and got refunded however when I checked my account I was charged a fee so I called back today and was told it was a destination fee like a resort fee. I explained that I wanted it refunded because she explained that it is for the amenities which I don't understand because there are no amenities any longer. She refused to credit my account. The door did not have the extra lock just the key card to enter and exit. This really used to be a great place to stay that felt like a resort but now more like a run down motel 6. Oh and she told me that the sites are all updated with the new amenity updates which is not true because when I pulled it up again today it still says all the amenities that they don't offer.

Husband and I just moved here and this was a great spot for when we wanted to hangout in Phoenix on the weekend. The no kids thing was what made us come back and part of why we liked it. The front desk service and bar service are great however. We were willing to overlook their VERY poorly done remodeling because it was clean and no one under 18 but now that they rescinded it we will finding somewhere else.

Staff was nice, room was affordable, great location, but Not the “4 star hotel” I expected. Room smelled very strongly like bleach/cleaning chemicals. Slept ok, Bed was on softer side, but sheets had holes in them, bathroom shower drain was broken and didn’t drain well. The hotels amenities didn’t seem appealing to use.

I love the Clarendon. I have stayed here many many times. The staff are great and remember me. The rooms definitely are due for some updating. But for a $100 a night hotel, they have a lot more personality and flavor than staying at a scary La Quinta off the 17. The location is fantastic and close to grocery stores, restaurants, and 24 hour burrito shop. There are no kids because it’s cannabis-friendly. Fun for a festive weekend in town, perhaps not so much for the noise sensitive business traveler. But they definitely have the advantage in terms of being urbane and not being scary, compared to the rest of the hotels in their price range.

The hotel rooms were nice and clean. The TV and refrigerator were nice. A microwave would have been nice. There was a steamer, but no iron or ironing board. A comfortable chair would have been nice. The biggest problem was the bathroom. I asked for a handicapped bathroom, but none were available. A handheld shower would have helped this old lady, as I couldn’t get in and out of the tub. Also, the soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower were much too high for this 5’1” lady. The staff was very nice. Please be more considerate of elderly and handicapped people, and make more provisions for handicapped bathrooms , and comfortable seating. Also, the beds were too low for me to get in and out of comfortably.

Positives: bed was comfortable, staff was friendly, no cleanliness issues like others have reviewed.

Negatives: it’s a bit of a bait and switch as the photos online do not reflect the state of the hotel. I didn’t feel entirely safe as a solo female traveler. A lot of traditional safety measures appeared to be missing. Poorly lit parking, a lack of a secondary door latch or just secure room door in general. Area is not the best. Key card access to our specific floor would also have been good as it feels like anyone can walk in and out as they please. In the middle of the night I kept waking up to these flashes that very much felt like a camera flash. I believe it was an issue of wiring not being properly grounded when the AC kicked on and off. So I woke up about 5 times throughout the night. Loose wiring is documented in photos. Charging a resort fee was a bit much for a decent pool. I ended up leaving a day early due to not wanting to spend an additional night here.

I will say as far as customer service goes is top-tier Melinda absolutely adorable she will definitely go out of her way. However, the issue doesn’t fall with the workers. It falls with the hotel itself. That’s too low to the ground. Interior decorating could be a little more top-tier no microwaves is a double thumbs down no complementary breakfast that you’re used to when you stay at hotels was not available. Nowhere to keep the ice that you do get because the freezer doesn’t get cold enough. There were no remotes for the air conditioning so I did feel like I was closed in a room like I said the plus side would be the host and that would be about it and I won’t even talk about the homeless people that were chilling

Hotel is +18 & over ONLY! Parking is minimal. The Elevator fit my Mom in a wheelchair and myself ONLY, super Small!! No breakfast included. Only a 15% off the restaurant.
There was an empty water fridge in the lobby. Staff didn't ask if we needed help to our room.
The ceiling in the bathroom showed a bad water leak patch. There was NO hand soap in the bathroom and ALL shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were completely EMPTY!
Pool and spa are huge and there are nice private cabanas. There is an awesome rooftop lounge!
