I stumbled across Hillside because I showed up an hour too early for the farmers market down the street (opposite ends of a small plaza). I spotted the "cafe" sign and decided a coffee shop would be a great option to fill the time than driving home and driving back (I live 5 minutes away).

To my surprise, I was welcomed by walls full of beers and wine bottles before the huge menu of coffee options caught my attention. I almost changed my mind and bought half a dozen of beers instead lol!!

And then I realized it was only 8:15am. I came to my senses and ended up with a cup of cappuccino. The ratio of coffee and milk was on point and I was satisfied.

I can't rate the dine-in service just yet, but the couple short interactions I had with the barista and the cashier was good. Hopefully I will be able to come back soon for an actual breakfast.

Wonderful spot to sit down with a friend and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere! The food was fantastic and service was solid despite a busy Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad and loved both. My friend had a bacon cheeseburger and fries that he was very happy with!

We sat on the patio despite the cool temperatures and I really liked the courtyard feel and the large fireplace!

I will definitely be back!

The first visit we were greeted by whom I believe may have been the owner.
Today was my second visit in which I happened to bring a family member along.
I would like to think that this is an inclusive space, but this trip today..I had a couple seated across from me where the husband simply kept rolling his eyes in disgust.
My educated guess is that caucasian patrons are not used to seeing African American patrons?
I’ve added a picture of the patron who had an eye rolling problem….. though I didn’t realize he was in the picture until writing this review.
It was the most baffling experience as my family and I go out to eat often, and Rarely experience this type of behavior from others while eating. It was very weird to say the least..
Matthew was the best host that we could have had, and the food is warm but good.
Won’t be back for a little while, but maybe management will consider adding a sign that says “All are welcome” if this is truly the case.

Cute hidden restraunt my brother found after hiking. Absolutely loved it! Was delicious, not expensive, customer service was amazing kept checking in on us if we needed anything, and kept offering refills. Great choices for food, my sister has a very sensitive stomach so them having gluten free, sugar free, etc food choices really did help! Absolutely loved it ! Will definitely be back

Breakfast food is average. Had much better omlettes at other places in the past, but was fresh. Sandwiches are good, but fries lacked crisp and flavor. Waitress was awesome and people around were lively and all seemed friendly and happy they were there. That makes it a good place to go. Probably better in warmer weather with patio.

The menu has some good specials. I tried the chilaquiles and they were very good. I would add that green Chile sauce to any dish. The hamburgers are pretty good. They have a good selection of coffee and microbrews. There's a nice patio, which is usually busy. I don't care for the hashbrowns or the English muffin.

This place is great. We've been here a few times and the food never disappoints. I've had the chicken, the tacos, the poke, everything is great. Service is spot on and the beer selection is great as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area

just be aware their Chilaquiles verde version is tostadas con huevo, like literally the whole tortilla, not totopos, which of course the flavor will be different.
