We accidentally ended up here when our lodging reservation in Sterling was screwed up but it was a happy accident. There were three couples so we were in two of Nora's three cabins. The "Lodge" is the largest and sleeps lots! It has a bedroom upstairs with multiple beds of multiple sizes and a full bath and a bedroom in the basement with a similar configuration of beds and a full bath. The main level is an open kitchen, living room and eating area all in one and the sofa is a sleeper. There's a full bath on this level, too. The kitchen isn't all that large and the table seating is for four. Nora (the owner) had the fridge stocked with fresh milk and orange juice, boxes of dry cereal and fresh muffins and granola bars waiting on the table. While my partner and I stayed in another cabin, our friends in this cabin were comfortable for the two nights we were there. Nora checked on the milk and muffins after the first night and replenished them. My partner and I stayed in the Iliamna House, named because of it's view of Mt. Iliamna from the front porch. This cabin is two bedroom, two bath with a double and twin bed in each bedroom. The front porch is large and has a very nice gas grill on it plus seating and the beautiful view. The kitchen, dining area and living room are one open area and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans although only salt and pepper for condiments. In the living space, the two couches are actually twin beds. We also had milk, oj, cereal and muffins provided. For one or two couples, this is the most comfortable of the two houses. The three houses are set back in the woods and separated from each other enough so that you don't see the other houses. They are connected by a road and there is also a path mowed through the undergrowth. There is also a viewing platform that overlooks Cook Inlet and the three mountains - great place for a late afternoon drink unless the mosquitoes are too bad. The third cabin is a one bedroom that also looked very nice. Everything was clean and comfortable and Nora was delightful to work with. This is a great place to stay that is somewhat "mid Kenai" if you are exploring the peninsula. It's also a good place to stay if you are chartering a fishing boat out of Ninilchik or Anchor Point as the launch site is about 20 minutes from here. This is a hidden gem.

I have stayed at Ninilchik Cabins many times and it just as great every year!! Love the cabins, everyone of them, and Nora the owner is wonderful. It is a beautiful drive from Anchorage and we stay in the woods with the moose and love the view and the serenity!! I absolutely recommend this place, unless it's the week I want to be there and the other cabins are full... : )

Nora was a great host. We enjoyed our two nights in her cabin. Would highly recommend. Excellent value with everything you could need. Well stocked kitchen. Very clean. Great view of inlet and mountains. Great fishing nearby. Coffee, orange juice, milk, muffins, cereal, and more all provided daily.

There were many forest fires and we were displaced a couple nights. The owner here was very helpful! The cabin was clean and comfortable. The stairs leading upstairs to the bedroom are pretty steep and my husband and I both have some mobility issues but we were able to handle them ok.

This is a great place to stay while fishing or just for a relaxing get away. Nora the owner, is awesome.. Great centralized location for Homer and Kenai. We are going back for a third time later this month.
