I do not recommend the chicken fried steak. It was the thinnest piece of meat. The staff were quick and efficient but what happened to them checking to see if all was OK.

The Ajo Café is a real deal 1952 diner. Impeccably organized and appointed with a vintage countertop and awesome old school cash register, it is cozy and clean. The pancake and over medium eggs were cooked to Michelin star standards. Service is fast and friendly with very reasonable prices. I’ll be back to try the lunch menu soon!

This was my first time coming here so I'm only giving this place three stars. The reason being is because it was just the food that I ordered I didn't really like it I ordered the French toast and it was kind of odd. It seemed like they used a baguette type of bread like you would use for garlic bread instead of square bread sandwich bread that is usually used or like a brioche bread. And also it was kind of undercooked because of slices were so thick that they didn't cook it long enough to cook the egg in the center of the bread so that's why I only gave it three stars I really wanted to give it more because this place is just the cutest little cafe. You walk in and there's only about 10 or 15 tables and it's all out in the open it looks like something you would see on a sitcom or something. The server who greeted us her name was Teresa I believe and she was just the nicest person and the most welcoming host in any restaurant that I've been to recently. She was also our server and she was really nice we told her it was our first time and she welcomed us very warmly. The place from what I could tell looked very clean and well kept we sat next to like the way the server station and even the server station was very well clean and well kept in dusted and neatly organized. They have a big window where you can see through the kitchen but I didn't really get a good look to see how clean the kitchen was but if the dining room was clean and pretty sure that the kitchen was clean also. The coffee was excellent by the way. I will be coming back here to order some other stuff just to give them another chance maybe I just caught them on an off day or maybe they ran out of the regular bread that they normally use for french toast I don't know but I will be giving this place another shot. The server Mr Teresa she even learned our names by just looking at a credit card and referring to us by our names thereafter. Kind of like how a very good bartender would be trying to get to know you as soon as possible and getting personal. It did seem from what I could tell that there are a lot of regulars who come here because they were on a first name basis with the servers and I think that's really awesome you don't get that at like Denny's or ihop or anything like that. So the next time I come I will definitely be ordering something different and probably most likely from what I could tell from other reviews changing my rating to a higher rating at that point so stay tuned if you follow me see you guys next time.
