Truly one of best B&Bs. If you’ve ever been called pretentious, probably best to pass this one. Place was cute, quaint, clean, comfy bed, delectable breakfast made to order. Loved how intimate the setting was. Books everywhere. Enjoyed hearing history about the house and area from the owner. Stayed while on a motorcycle trip through AZ & CA.

We stayed here two nights. It was quite nice! It’s a historic guest house, built in 1924 I believe, for executives of the Dodge Phelps mining company. It’s a fascinating building with four interior guest rooms, a large living room, a dining room with a huge, beautiful dining table (original to the guesthouse) and two peripheral light- filled hallways ( which used to be outdoor sleeping porches) linking the rooms. Physically, the place could use some exterior paint and a little water damage repair in the dining room ceiling, but it’s a really unique, cool place. |The beds are comfortable, and the breakfast was gourmet. We had a veggie frittata (with orange slices, I believe), the first day. Home made waffles with a whiskey sauce and fresh strawberries the second day. The coffee was excellent. |Plenty of parking is in front of the building. The host is very accommodating.|I would definitely stay here again.

This property has a lot of history which we found fascinating. It is an eclectic place that has preserved much of the original design from it's Dodge-Phelps Copper Mine days. Mike was very welcoming and served lovely breakfasts in the spacious dining room. There are limited options staying in Ajo and this is a good option for those looking for something different. Those who stay at B&B's often will appreciate The Guest House for what it offers.....although could use some TLC outside and in the gardens. Be aware that Ajo is no longer a thriving town so restaurant options are limited.....especially for dinner. Each room has a fridge and microwave so easy to bring your own food if you choose. The verandahs adjacent to the bedrooms offer tables and chairs for eating.

This is a historic inn that served to accommodate visiting mine officials in the picturesque town of Ajo. The inn is just a short walk from the town plaza, the visitor center, a coffee shop, and the Estrella restaurant that had grass fed burgers and a wide selection of craft beers. It was roomy, clean, quiet, and comfy with many common areas to sit including a patio with an active bird population. Our room had a frig and microwave, great TV, internet, and access to freezer. The breakfast was outstanding; a lovely frittata, sausage, avocado with sour cream, tomato and of course coffee, tea, juice. The host, Mike, was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wondeful stay at The Guest House. If you enjoy history, you will appreciate this home, its renovations, and decorations. Mike, the proprieter, was a great host. He cooked and served a gormet breakfast of a fritata and avacado that was as good as any breakfast at a 5 star hotel. |The house was built in 1925 by the Dodge-Phelps Copper Mine. Mike and his family bought it in 1988 after the mine closed. They updated the home while keeping the historical aspects. For example, the four suites all face sleeping porches that have been enclosed. In the early 1900s, sleeping porches were quite common in wealthier homes. People slept on the porches because sleeping outdoors was supposed to be good for the constitution. Since we no longer use sleeping porches, Mike enclosed them and incorporated them into the bnb. We would defintely stay there again. ||

This is a wonderful B&B nestled in the hills of Ajo, AZ. You can sit on the front porch and watch the sunrise over A mountain while sipping your coffee. Miké the host, was exceptional. The breakfast both days was amazing. Miké made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location to hike the hills, enjoy Organ Pipe Monument, enjoy the local artists and find fantastic food in Why, AZ. ||,

We were traveling to Organ Pipe Cactus Park and stayed one night. The outside of the home doesn't really look much different from the other homes in the town, which is to say simple but cute. Built in 1925 as a guest residence for visitors to the local mine site the house was designed to accommodate guests with a very comfortable room each with it's own bath. That meant there was not a lot of remodeling to bring it to code so it keeps the old world design features.
Mike was a wonderful Inn Keeper serving us a delicious breakfast of juice, fruit cornmeal pancakes with butter and sausage. And all the coffee you could want. We would definitely stay again, Thanks Mike.
