We have driven past this place numerous times and only just noticed it and we are very happy that we did. I had the brisket breakfast and it was very tasty. I would definitely suggest a side of red enchilada sauce to go with it. My wife had the huevos rancheros and it was equally tasty! We are very happy to have discovered this and will stop in whenever we are in the area.

Edit:
We were excited to return and enjoy a meal because it was so tasty last time. Unfortunately it was the opposite. Service was slow, the eggs were way undercooked, the huevos rancheros were flavorless. Hopefully just an off day but I’m dropping from 5 stars to 3 stars.

Laytonville is a cute and funky little town nestled on the 101 in Mendocino County. I was craving a burger and I’d heard this place had good ones, so it was a date. It is a quiet and unassuming location, bigger than you might think. There is an exterior seating area and a very pretty barbecue grill that probably gets used on weekends. The menu has breakfast and lunch with all the staples and a great selection of burgers and sides. I chose the Mendo Mushroom 🍄 burger and it was fantastic. Very large with a heaping amount of edible fungi that complemented it perfectly. I will definitely try this place again.

Hard to find good food in small towns. Their smoked chicken wings are great. Kids loved the Alfredo pasta. The club sandwich is easily big enough for two. Quick food. Good service.

This location is quite convenient for travelers and first comers to the area. Right off by US-101, you got a bbq spot to eat at. I highly recommend. Parking is available outfront. My group of friends and I were coming back from our trip in Eureka, making couple stops before heading back home. We saw this restaurant and decided to try it out. The chefs did their thing and the food was delicious. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich w/ a side of Mac & Cheese. Drink was coffee + peanut butter milkshake, the creamy thickness of the combination of both flavors impressed me. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Place got busy and Service was a bit tight on orders but the waitress managed after things started to settle down. Place inside was clean and bathrooms are available. They also have a high top chair sit down bar by the kitchen. Pretty cool restaurant, thank you. I enjoyed the food!

Well, the 101 Grill & BBQ is right there, and I pointed it out to the Pinhead that I had to bring up here from Santa Rosa, because his Pa needs to put him to work on his ranch herding the Wildebeest they raise at the Triple G Gnu Ranch up there just below Slickets Ridge. I only pointed out the 101 Grill because I knew the little wacknut was hungry and I wanted him to know I was stopping there ...after I dropped him off.
I asked for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and got the King of all grilled ham and cheese sandwiches!
5 stars all day long! ☆☆☆☆☆
